Convenient & close to station

The ibis budget is a fairly typical member of the chain. It's convenient & close to the railway station, on a cycle path and a short walk for the town's bus station. The city centre and cathedral are about 15 minutes' walk away. the rooms are functional, yet not uncomfortable. there's a small breakfast area on the ground floor, and a small supermarket underneath the hotel at the entrance to the railway station. Breakfast costs extra, but is probably worthwhile; I had boiled egg (I got the timing better this time), slice of brown bread with cheese, a croissant with apricot jam and two mini pains aux raisins. I washed it down with some weedy grapefruit “juice” and two decent cups of coffee. There's also ham available. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants to eat on the other side of the station about 5 minutes away on foot. As with all Ibis, book early if you want a good rate, we ended up paying more than friends in a much more upmarket hotel nearby, because we left it too late to book!

Had I known prior to check-in that this property didn’t offer ACCOR elite benefits—even though I made my reservation on the ACCOR app at the Members only rate—I would have stayed next door at the Park Inn. So, ACCOR All Members, beware of the fine print—which most of us could easily miss. The size of the room at this hotel is more like a first class train cabin—hardly any place for luggage and space to move around. No amenities such as cups/coffee mugs/electric kettle. One relatively small bath towel per guest—that’s it. There is one uncomfortable chair by the window and a collapsible quasi desk at the foot of one of the twin beds, which could hardly be used because of limited space. I can’t image two adults sharing the room. The twin beds didn’t seem to be standard size—too narrow. Perhaps, the room is suitable for university students, but not recommended to business travelers. I will definitely choose another Leuven hotel on my next visit. Like IBIS Budget, Park Inn, next door, is conveniently located as well; it is adjacent to a walk-bridge giving you direct access to train tracks with elevator access. Then, you would not have to climb the steep stairwell to IBIS Budget or have to cross the street to get to the train station through an inclined walkway.Even if room rates at IBIS Budget were lower than at other hotels, I would not be back as an elite ACCOR All Plus member. On a positive note, the staff were very helpful; they tried to offer good service despite the limitations of hotel facilities and amenities. Thank you all!

Stayed as had a gig at Het Depot, hotel and wa basic but we have stayed at inis budget before so we’re aware of the facilities, basic but clean. Unfortunately a cleaner knocked on our door and walked in, twice! About 8am which was frustrating, also the sink blocked, told reception when we left.

Excellent location, right on a bus/train transport hub, near to a lively square full of bars and cafes and the main drag to the old town. Friendly, helpful, lovely staff. EXCELLENT breakfast – all the basics there and all good quality (& they don't count how many times you go back for the lovely fresh croissants... 😁) It IS a budget hotel, and all that goes with that, so the rooms are small, cramped and a bit stuffy – and the fan/ac needs instructions!! Hard to use – but all modern and immaculately clean.

Unpolite staff, only interested in money. Worse is ibis budget everywhere. They dont want guests more then a few days. Chasing them away. The food is superexpensive. Supermarkt pizza for 15 euro?! Breakfast sane problem superexpensive. Unpolite rude breakfast staff.
