Nice Hotel but expensive

Good central location in the heart of Oxford. When booking be aware that unlike most Hotels the advertised price is excluding VAT, which make's it quite expensive and again, like most hotels breakfast is not included. Also note that the car park is pretty small (10 cars maximum) and is priced at £30 per night !

For your convenience, Booking.com offers the option to select whether you would like breakfast included or not. It appears that you selected the option excluding breakfast when making your booking. As parking in Oxford can be limited, we do charge £30 per night for parking in our own bays. However, the nearby St. Clements Car Park, located just a short 10-minute walk away, offers parking at £25 per night as an alternative option. I would also like to highlight that all of your rooms were upgraded from standard to premium during your stay, and we hope that you enjoyed the enhanced experience. For future stays, I recommend booking directly through our website, as this allows for a more seamless experience and potentially better rates. Afternoon tea. I treated my niece, who has special needs. To an early Christmas present of afternoon tea. She adores the whole experience and fuss. I had purchased via Groupon, feeling unsure what to expect despite being a frequent Mecure guest, I have never had Afternoon tea at one of the hotels. It was beautiful, freshly made sandwiches, you can tell they hadn't been made early in advance. Beautiful scones and a gorgeous chocolate brownie. Plenty to chose from. My niece prefers hot chocolate than tea. The lovely waiters made her 2, which she confirmed were delicious. Would highly recommend, especially the welcoming staff.

Stayed Sunday 17th November the room allocated to us was stifling and you couldn’t turn the radiator down. Only one window could be opened but only an inch. There was a fan but this made sleeping difficult because of the noise. It was extremely hot not a pleasant night which was a shame as the bed was very comfortable with the nicest pillows. The shower was excellent. The cooked breakfast was disappointing, food wasn’t very hot and the plates provided were very small. The coffee was tepid and unpleasant. Yogurts, fruit juice and pastries all good. Something needs to be done about the heating in 502 it really was far too hot to sleep in and must be costing a fortune!

Really noisy room!!

Avoid room 202, I have never previously stayed in such a noisy hotel room. The stairs next to the room are not fully carpeted, so I was kept awake late with the sound of people clonking up the stairs, and then woken early with those coming down. Then at 07.30 there was the loud gurgling of the radiators coming on. The creaking floorboards from the room above and the lift "mind the doors" was quiet in comparison to the rest of the noise. It would be interesting if the management spent a night in that room, to see if they found it acceptable. On a positive note, I enjoyed the breakfast.
