The hotel is lovely, breakfast delicious! Only downside is if you are on high floors,(my family and i were on the 12th floor) its absolutely boiling and the AC/Fans dont work in the room. The windows dont open much due to safety either. We couldnt sleep all night as it was so stuffy- and we are only in April . And the pool water was extremely cold, so both my kids couldnt swim in there. Its a shame as pools in hotels are always 30-32degrees. Apart from that the location is great!

During my stay with friends at Novotel Reading in Apr, what made it more memorable was the warmest welcoming of staff at the bar and the restaurant. Alexis welcomed us by trying to learn our saying of "good morning" in our own language. He was so friendly and cheerful and looked like old friends, giving us a home-stay feeling. Alex is also so nice and helpful, helping us in every detail when we were having our breakfast. Alex shared with us information about the city, so helping us knowing more about Reading. Other restaurant staff are also so nice and cheerful. It made the tasteful breakfast more enjoying. Really appreciate your excellent service. We will be back soon.

Great Hotel with fantastic staff in excellent location

Myself and my 2 sisters stayed here on 4th April as we were in Reading for evening to watch a show at the local theatre. I booked this hotel as I had won a hotel voucher and booked the stay via a third party. Upon arrival my booking could not be found! The receptionists were very helpful, in particular Marissa Salima who went out of her way to help and not only secured us a room but enabled us to check in much earlier and provided us with a drinks voucher.. even though the error did not lie with them. The hotel itself is modern, clean and comfortable and all the staff are friendly and accommodating. It’s in a fantastic location within 10/15 walk of train station, Hexagon theatre and The Oracle! I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

Terrific front desk service and worthwhile breakfast buffet

Owing to change of flight, we arrived early in the morning of 9 o clock. The lady named Marlissa Salina At front desk has been so nice and helpful to find rooms for the extreme early check in. She also recommended us to top up breakfast buffet for £10 per day. The buffet has been proven to be worthwhile.

Good stay - attention to rooms required

Had a good stay as normal, I was greeted by Salima and Marissa on reception who were both very welcoming and acknowledged my membership. I had early check in and both were kind enough to advise that my room was ready. I was allocated in room 922. Room was good but only downside being southern facing and with the air con not working properly it was rather warm. Thankfully this doesn’t both me. But I can assume it would others; I checked the fan speed and this was put on high to cool the room down for a better sleep at night so the room wasn’t stuffy but sadly as the building is aging this needs some serious attention to detail as I know it’s a fault with the other rooms. This aside. The room was clean, comfy and had all the normal amenities one would need for a comfy sleep. Sadly I didn’t have breakfast as I wasn’t very hungry when leaving, but they do have a good selection.
