I arrived fairly late after a very long drive in dreadful weather conditions. From the moment I walked in to the hotel I felt at home. I had the loveliest welcome from Maria, Michelle and Tom who went above and beyond to help me relax and "climb down" from a horrible journey. Maria even went onto Google street view to show me my destination the next morning which was so helpful. The room was spotless, comfortable and quiet and I was really impressed with the commitment of Ibis to waste management as there were 4 different bins for paper, glass, food and general waste. I ate in the restaurant on my second night and the food was fresh and tasty. Thanks to all 3 of them for clearly loving their jobs, I enjoyed my stay a great deal. Thanks guys. (And I raise a glass and a shovel to Michelle...!)

We enjoyed our meals, breakfast and dinner, in the hotel restaurant. Food was fresh and flavorful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We appreciate the ample car parking and dog friendly facilities. The room was clean with a comfortable bed. It was close enough to walk to the downtown area and the waterfront/marina with shops, restaurants, pubs, museums and sites. Would highly recommend this Ibis hotel.

No Gherkins

I visit family every year in Swansea and have previously stayed at The Dragon Hotel. The Dragon however has fallen well below its previous standards and has been having a refurb for at least the last 4 years which will start in September. However every year it hasn't been done. I discovered the same thing this year so I decided to change hotels. What a gem I discovered in the Ibis. The Dragon is allegedley a 4 star whereas the Ibis is only a 2 star but let me just say the Ibis is streets ahead of the Dragon. I'm sure I could find things to moan about such as no fried eggs for breakfast (only scrambled or boiled) or that I'd have prefered a bigger shower head ( I may take my own with me next year) , or that they don't take cash. But that would just me being pedantic. The breakfast was more than adequate and to be honest the scrambled eggs (which were replenished frequently) are probably a lot healthier than fried eggs. When you walk into the Ibis it is clean and airy and the staff on reception were cheerful and friendly. I actually arrived at the hotel around 10.30 and while it was far to early to check in there was no problem with leaving my bags there. My room was wonderful being as far away from the lifts as possible, and was also light and airy and furnished with everything needed. I especially liked the walk in shaower meaning I didn't have to clamber in and out of a bath tub. Breakfast is served until 10.00am and even late on there is not a problem with items being topped up if requested. I originally made the booking over the phone with Tom who couldn't have done any more for me, and the same can easily be said for the rest of the team. My one serious moan is that on the Wednesday night I got a snack in the hotel. I ordered the chicken burger which should have come with gherkins. They had run out of gherkins, however it still tasted great. I did actually mention to Tom thatit may have been better done as a wrap than a burger due to the size of the burger bun compared to the chicken.

A great stay

Stayed here for 1 night while I did the Swansea half Ironman. We arrived before check in but our room was ready so we were quickly checked in. I’d booked a pet friendly room but last minute decided not to bring our dog because of the very hot weather predicted. They quickly refunded the additional pet fee. This is a really lovely hotel. Quiet room and a comfortable bed which was really all I needed. Room was recently refurbished to a high standard. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful and I really can’t fault anything about our stay. Excellent value for money.

The staff on arrival were rude non helpful trying to make out that I'd booked for a week when i told them it was fri-sun the staff tried making out that it was my error and not theres which in a matter of fact I have evidence of my booking which they deny this is one of the worst hotels we've actually stayed in and I will not be staying in this appalling hotel agin and will make sure that none of my family/friends stay at this hotel after nearly messing up my holiday then getting gaslighted when u show your booking an confirmation absolutely disgusting !!!!!!

I reiterate, you turned up 1 week early We changed your booking to accommodate you but we could only do it for the Friday night as we were full on the Saturday night.
