Beautiful hotle bedrooms great very spacious it was a gift for my birthday for one night.will Deffinily go again but stay in the main building.Food great staff very good.All the facilities are first glass not into spa days if I was you won’t be dissapointed here.

What a beautiful hotel, great service, well staffed and lovely setting. Why all the bad reviews?? We had a totally different experience. It was peaceful, relaxing and we had an amazing stay, even with a wedding on the second day which didn’t impact us or the service at all. We booked 2 nights in a privilege room which wasn’t allocated at first. friendly receptionist gave us an upgrade to a junior suite. Beautiful, quiet, huge room in main building. Very comfy bed and extras like toiletries, soft drinks. Spa lovely, breakfast delicious, staff very helpful. We had dbb and meals were very tasty, used bar one night with good choice of food but menu a bit limited in restaurant. Really lovely building and grounds. We’re definitely returning. Perfect position for a trip to beautiful Shrewsbury.

Not sure what it is like to stay in the main part of the hotel. We were given a room in the school masters house, an annex off from the main building.It left a lot to be desired, windows that were all and didn’t shut properly, thank goodness it was the summer. The water to have a shower was practically none existent, mine was lukewarm, my husbands was cold and just a dribble at that. The shower over the bath would not have been suitable at all for anyone elderly or disabled, one to climb in and two the grab rail was by the taps. The bathroom was in need of update.

Unfortunately we have experienced, in the last few days, some issues with our water pressure and this as a result has affected the water's pressure in our Guest's room. Please rest assured that the issue has now been addressed and fully solved. I am very disappointed to read that the room's location and the room's facilities did not meet your requirement. We do have rooms available for Guests who may require an easier access to the shower, these rooms are available on request and we strongly advice our customers to contact us directly if they require a specific bedroom's arrangement in order to avoid disappointments. Terrible food, terrible wifi, terrible TV. Food missing advertised dips so the salt and pepper chicken was dry and not edible and the chicken tika was tasteless. Wi-Fi is shocking and kept cutting out, when it worked it was very poor so impossible to do work. TV signal was horrendous

My partner stayed last week and had the most horrific stay possible and was met with nothing but ignorance. My partner arrived at the hotel and after first messaging me saying I think I have found my new favourite hotel this was soon to change. She checked in, went to her room and after a 3 hour car drive went to get in the shower, as she went to get in the shower she heard a noise but thought nothing of it then she heard it again and got out of the shower to investigate, to her shock a woman and her child were stood at the entrance to the room as they had been given the same room by reception. My partner got dressed and went down to reception to discuss to which she was sent back to a room with a member of the hotel staff who proceeded to start packing my partners belongings into her suitcase. My partner has OCD so things need to be done in a certain way the member of staff rushed her back to reception and said they will sort it out for you. When she got to reception the person there said don’t worry about just go back to your room. Not wanting to cause a fuss she did. On arrival back at her room which from what she told me was in a separate building the room key had been deactivated leaving her with no choice but to go back to reception they just gave her another room. She got to the room at around 8pm now to find the only plug was in the wardrobe and she had to work, she opened her laptop and the wifi wasn’t working. After a phone call with myself and her mum she decided that she needed to find another place to stay as she didn’t feel comfortable in this hotel after what had happened but with limited signal and no internet it was down to family 4 hours away to locate another hotel. My partner checked out after 2 hours in the hotel and didn’t once get an apology for the stay. We contacted hotels. Com who we booked through and they were great as at this point my partner didn’t get into her next hotel until 10.30pm they attempted to contact the hotel on a number of occasions but couldn’t get through. Today is the 3rd of September and I have just had this response from Hotels.com “Unfortunately, after multiple tries, we weren’t able to obtain an approval from the property manager to waive any cancellation fees”. I can understand a few misshaps in a hotel but for someone to be given access to a room when someone is already in it and then to expect a person to go back to that room is out of order. Then to not receive an apology for the events, to me someone checking out of a room after 2 hours should be raising alarm bells as a failure of basic customer service.

I have addressed the issues with our reception manager who will ensure such circumstance (which is rather unusual for us) will not occur again. I have processed a FULL refund via the third party company which you have booked it. Please accept, once again, my humble apologies.
