We stayed here for 3 nights upon arrival we had to change rooms as the locks weren’t working in our first room we then moved all luggage etc to another room.Mercure have no changed their policy of charging guests £10 per visit for the pool access witch before April was free including the gym use.the breakfast was nice and plenty of options.i want to give a special mention to Amy for helping us with our rooms and also gave us a a free pool access for the inconvenience.special mention to jack at the bar.also big thanks to aziz at breakfast always welcoming and very helpful.

Hotel is tired and in need of serious renovation. We have stayed at the hotel before and only returned as the hotel had a pool for our family to enjoy. However Mercure have now decided to stop hotel guests using this facility. Beds not very comfortable. However staff were very friendly.

We had a really lovely experience here for our first wedding anniversary. Room was a good size, breakfast was a good spread, and we enjoyed use of the spa facilities (£10pp for the day felt reasonable). Aziz was particularly welcoming and made us laugh! It's a large antique-style hotel, and was relatively busy whilst we were there.

The hotel is all right but it could be way better. They locked us out of our room everyday for no reason so we had to walk all the way to reception to get them to fix the keys. This wouldn’t have been a big deal but they put us on the furthest room possible. Breakfast was extremely expensive and not worth the price. Food wasn’t hot when it was meant to be. Had to wait ages for them to refill anything there was none left off. Staff were trying to take away our dishes when we were still eating from them. The staff were just standing around doing nothing much. The gym was a reasonable size for hotel, but £10 per person for the pool is ridiculous. I would not pay that for what the pool looked like. It was so small. There was not many car parks either so we struggled to find a park when all the weddings were happening. The weddings are ridiculously loud and big and they spilled out into the walkway which is for the guests and made us feel very unwelcome. Overall I wouldn’t recommend. There are so many nicer places in the area so go there instead. I won’t be going back.

Appalling stay. Our room was covered in mould, hairs, dirt and stains None of our reservations were booked as prepaid. No nut allergen information on coffees. Could've killed my partner with a severe allergy. All to be offered a £40. Refund.
