Customer service department needs to be renamed

Head office customer service is a joke, they made a lot of money for a one minute mistake. Their unhelpful, computer-says-no attitude leaves a really bad taste in the mouth. I will be avoiding Novotel and Accor wherever possible in future, once they have your money, that's it, they don't care any more. I appreciate all hotel chains have the same money grabbing attitude these days but Accor customer service had an opportunity to do the right thing here for a clear, genuine mistake and decided to keep my money instead.

Hi Phil, I already responded to your other two reviews for the same issue., this was a head office issue, and not one the hotel controlled.

Room, facilities exactly as you’d expect. However, very poorly treated. We, with our 16-month-old, checked in, all fine. Had pre-dinner drinks, high chair for dinner, short bit of time in bar/playing then off to room. We were woken up later, including our child, because we hadn’t pre-authorised any spend. This could have been asked for many times but wasn’t. We were staying two nights, and had paid for two breakfasts. Our credit card was used to secure the room. However the staff were adamant that I had to get up and return. There was no sympathy or understanding or apology, simply a continuous “it’s procedure, it’s procedure”. Ridiculous. Why a small child, who everyone was aware of, and had met, needed to be woken is unbelievable. This was shared with the Gen Mgr the next day who said he’d speak to the staff concerned. A complementary drink, or anything, for the second night would have been welcomed.

Thank you for taking the time to write your review, I do remeber talking to you at the time, and speaking with the staff/manager cancerned. What should happen is, we ask you on check in if you want to pay for extras as you go, or if you want to preauthorise a card, so that you can charge over to your room account. So somewhere this clearly went off track. We again apologise for the telephone call to your room, and have made changes so that this wouldnt happen again.

Just got back from a one night stay at Novotel Manchester West. Travelled alone as I was back in the area, from my teenage years, for a mini high school reunion. I chose this Novotel because 1) I have stayed here before with the family and 2) it was very close to where I wanted to be. The room (on the 3rd floor- above the reception/restaurant/bar etc) was very clean, modern, warm and comfortable. Everything about it was just great. I chose a bed & breakfast option because I've stayed at a few Novotels and the breakfast is very, very good and really sets you up for the day! Lots of options to choose from whether it's a full English you're after, a light cereal and pastry option, or go Continental with the cheeses and cold meats etc. I went for the full English option. Could've done with being a little bit hotter for my liking but very nice nevertheless. Overall a pleasant stay and I'll be back for sure.

Having stayed here in the past, I asked for a specific room, which the Hotel managed to arrange. Lovely relaxing hotel with friendly, caring staff. Everything and everywhere very clean. Although the gym is small, it was well maintained fully operational. Attention has also been paid to maintaining the lawns and putting in new plants close to the hotel. It remains an ideal base for exploring the local area, especially RHS Bridgewater. Will definitely stay again when in the area. A second coffee machine at breakfast would help guests to prepare their drinks quickly when several people want one at the same time. The plate warmer didn't work, or contained too many plates. When we asked for a hot plate, the manager reached for one from below the hot food counter, but even that was barely warm. These little things make all the difference.

Thanks Geoff, Take your point re the coffee machine, the plate warmer works fine, so Im not sure what happened there, we will keep our eye on it. Great to see that overall you had a smashing time, see you again soon.

Gj Zaken - ALL bevestigde berichten

Verblijf an sich goed; echter de afwikkeling vwb rewards kan vele malen beter. Ondanks melding cq overleg van meerdere kaarten/overnachtingen met Heather moeten er toch ‘missing points’ geclaimd gaan worden. Voor beide kaarten is dit niet juist behandeld.
