Lost AirPods Incident at Ibis Patong Hotel – Room 231 on May 24, 2025

I stayed at Ibis Patong Hotel on the night of May 24, 2025, and I accidentally left my AirPods on the bed under the pillow in room 231. I clearly remember placing them there but did not pick them up at the time because my hands were covered in makeup. Eventually, I forgot to take them with me when I checked out. Later, when I tried to use my AirPods, I realized I had forgotten them at the hotel. I immediately contacted Ibis Patong and also checked the location of my AirPods through the Find My app on my iPhone. To my surprise, the location was no longer at the hotel—it had already been moved elsewhere. I called the hotel again, and a staff member informed me that they had checked with the head of housekeeping, but no AirPods were found in the room. However, when I checked the location again through the app, I saw that both AirPods had been removed from the charging case and taken to another location. I decided to follow the signal and found the right AirPod discarded on the street. I couldn’t locate the other parts. If the housekeeper who cleaned room 231 claims they didn’t find the AirPods, how did the AirPods end up being moved and discarded on the street? Was this an attempt to destroy evidence? Is this really the standard of a hotel chain with over 3,200 branches in 110 countries worldwide? What exactly is the lost and found policy at this property? How can I trust this hotel chain in the future? Will my belongings be safe if I accidentally leave something behind? I affirm that everything I have stated is 100% true. Finally, if I receive fair treatment and justice from the hotel, I am willing to remove this review.

Following your report, we conducted a thorough internal investigation. Our housekeeping team followed standard check-out inspection procedures, and at the time of cleaning, no AirPods were found in the room. As you had concerns regarding the possible location of the item, you decided to involve the local authorities. We have fully cooperated with the police and provided all necessary assistance during their investigation. While we understand your frustration, we must emphasize that there is no evidence to support the claim that the item was taken by our staff. We are committed to transparency and fairness, and we will continue to support the investigation should further information come to light. Good Hotel. Clean rooms and nice service. Reasonable breakfast. Beach only few minutes away from the hotel and very nice pool area. Special thanks to Mr Farouk Zourdani (hotel manager) and bar staff Aof, Tik and Yord.😊 Thank you all the hotel staff for hospitality and good experience.

My second stay at Ibis Patong with family. We found the staff to be outstanding. Fast check in and out and always helpful. The issues we had was with the rude obnoxious Russian guests who were also in the hotel. Never have I seen such rudness towards the staff and other guests. Obviously manners are not taught in Russia. I've been travelling to Thailand for over 17 years and I've never seen this type of behaviour. Hats off to the staff for putting up with their vulgarity. The hotel itself is a great place in a great location, pity the guests didn't appreciate it.

Great choice if you like Patong

I stayed at Ibin Samui and Ibis Patong and I can recommend both hotels. About this one: number 1: staff. They go out of their way to make your vacation enjoyable. I would especially mention people at breakfast buffet and the manager, Ou. I am a celiac and initially they had no idea what gluten free entails but they quickly researched it and I had more than enough gluten free bread and cake for breakfast every day. They realized I am a tea drinker and once I asked for a lemon, they remembered and brought it every day for me w/o me having to ask. The manager is lovely. She apologizes for not speaking fluent English but I thought her English was really good. Number 2: it's clean though NOT a new place. Number 3: Patong location: close to the beach, the stores and restaurants. However, this being Patong - quiet it's not so think twice if you want to be away from the crowds. Breakfast is good.

My stay was really nice, the hotel was very clean, well equipped, nice design, brigh colours + good breakfast. It looks cosy and clean and is a good deal for its price. The location is perfect, next to the beach and all the shops. Team members are very friendly and welcoming, thanks to May especially.
