Really bad experience. All about check-in, the person that did the check in should move from the hotel business to the prison business. I felt like a criminal being checked into jail not a client checking into a hotel. Really hostile, unhelpful borderline rude. I almost exclusively use Accor hotels and normally my experiences are consistently excellent but this was awful, awful, awful... never again. The room was fine, but the stay was ruined before I even got there.

The facilities are reasonable, the quality of service left much to be desired. Most of the staff, with a few exceptions, were unfriendly and seemed disengaged. Basic courtesies like a smile or a simple "good morning" were often forgotten, particularly by the restaurant team serving breakfast. The lack of warmth from the staff definitely impacted the overall experience. A little effort in customer service would go a long way in improving the stay.

5 minutes from the airport (you just need to take the walkway and you are there), this Novotel offers a good stay for your short stay in Rio. They need to renew rooms though. Friendly and professional staff. A little expensive for what it offers.
