Great value for a couple of nights away

If you are looking for luxury this is not it, but the clue is in the name. We came for two nights purely to visit the historic dockyard. We parked our car easily and then we were able to check in early and choose which floor we wanted to be on. The room was clean, apart from a few hairs left around the sink. These were easy to wipe away. We bought our own kettle and tea and coffee, this was easy as we were only travelling from Essex. The breakfast was amazing for a budget hotel and the staff so friendly. The hotel is in a convenient place. We did not move our car at all. We used the train to get to the docks and walked to the nearby 'Good Companion' pub for food. I would definitely stay in a budget Ibis for a night or two again. It had all we needed for a couple of nights. I would go elsewhere for a longer stay, just because I'd want a little more room and comfort. Overall, though we were very impressed. The hotel is exactly what it is described as. 🙂

I booked 2 nights here on a trip to Portsmouth for my husbands birthday. Check in was easy and simple. They have a small number of parking spaces outside the hotel but you will need to park over the road if you are not quick enough to get one outside, going out later in the evening risks loosing your space too. Room was adequate. It has a bed, shower, sink and toilet. Was abit cold and smelt slightly damp but looked clean and served the purpose of being a room with a bed to put our heads down for the night. Would have been better if they offered a kettle in the room so you can make a cup of coffee. Not sure I would book here again though, It wasn't the comfiest of nights.

Seen a few negative reviews which I don’t understand. Yes it’s basic but it’s advertised as that. Great location, clean rooms and a really friendly and welcoming reception team make it a decent stay. At the price point it’s very good value for money IMO.

Absolutely as advertised. No frills. Everywhere was Clean. Comfy bed. Shower and toilet spotless . No noise heard anywhere even tho it was clearly very busy. Parking at B&Q across the road for free. Reception staff were all really lovely. It’s budget, you get what you pay for. It’s a perfect place to get your head down for the night.
