A nice resort in a lovely high country area

We have just spent a week here in a one bedroom apartment. It was lovely, the apartment with a kitchen was very comfortable, there is everything there that you need to cook your own meals , there is a restaurant onsite but you need to check which nights it is open. The closest place to eat out is the Hunt Club Hotel in Merrijig or Mansfield so the kitchen comes in very handy. The grounds around the resort which is on a hill are beautifully maintained as is the pool area. Inside the main building there is a spa and sauna which we used each late afternoon.. Bathroom with shower is quite adequate, good hot water and pressure. The free wifi worked well as did the two TVs. A safe in the unit was a added bonus. We couldn’t get the new oven to work but a call to reception soon had a maintenance man around and he fixed it in a couple of minutes. There are a lot of kangaroos on the property and this time of year there are lots of young Joeys. Quite a lot of deer as well but they are a lot more timid than the Kangas. Lots of birdlife, the place was fairly busy, people seemed to be coming and going every day. There are a lot of good walks in the area which we enjoyed. This is our second stay here and no doubt we will be back to enjoy the resort and the lovely countryside.

No welcome amenity given to Accor gold member. GSA was ok on check in, but other team member on the phone (sounded like older lady) was bit short when taling over the phone. She might be having bad mood or something? When asked about having just bit of late check out due to travelling with young kids, considering an Accor Gold member ( yes i know i am not Platinum or above, and I dont demand for like extensive late check out) she didnt even bother to at least check. Room attendant isnt going to do all rooms at once. At least she can allocate our room to be cleaned bit later? Unless our specific room is allocated for someone, but she didnt even bother checking at all. I TV in one of the rooms kept turning off after few minutes. Kettle was stained so badly, cant be used. When asked for replacement, they said that it would take a while as it was after hour request, which we didnt bother and ended up getting kettle from the other room (i booked 2 rooms). Dinner at the restaurant was average. It took so long for the food to come (more than 40 minutes). We saw other table who ordered similar dishes and came much later than us was served food so much earlier than us. Had to ask the staff to check on the food twice. Ordered steak to cook medium, but came up well done. Breakfast was quite expensive for what was offered. Not worth the money at all. Food wasnt topped up once run out. Advertised breakfast is until 10am, but barely any food available. Also, floor staff is collecting payment while we are having breakfast? Why cant they do that before we are seated or after meal? This in fact affected our breakfast experience as well. We were kind of annoyed and felt disturbed while having breakfast. Overall, it was an average experience. While we enjoyed the rooms that we had, with the service that we received and price paid, we would think twice to come back.

Ran out of toilet paper and tissues one evening. Could not find any in room. Rang reception 6.45pm only to have call answered by an off site 'reception' who said hotel reception closed and nothing they could do. Breakfast does not start until 8am - weird. Have never stayed in any hotel anywhere in the world with breakfast/coffee not availalbe by 7am on a week day - 7.30am at the latest. Sadly not much competition in Mansfield for decent accommodation.

Not ALL four star standard - far from it. So hit and miss.

Booked this as the reviews were OK and I was working in Mansfield for 4 days. Hold Platinum with ALL and on a pre arrival call the staff member was rude when I asked to check in at 2pm as I had to do 2 zoom calls. Told we DONT do early check in. Rang again the day prior and a helpful male said he would sort it. Arrived 2.20pm and was told rudely check in is 3pm! Explained I had spoken to someone and magically she found my room was ready. Asked if I had stayed previously and said no. Gave me a map for my room and was told nothing else other than I needed to book if I wanted dinner. Room acceptable and I was upgraded, bed fine, pillows cheap. Bottle of wine and note as welcome gift. Arrived back to room at 7pm on Wed and toilet paper had run out. Could not find any spare rolls in bathroom. Rang reception which transferred to an 'offsite reception' and was told that the reception was closed and nothing she could do but perhaps I could visit the restaurant and see if they could help. It was cold, pouring with rain so I thought well there was a box of tissues I could use. Only four tissues left in box and no spare box anywhere. This is meant to be a 4 star property. I was not told reception shut early as the previous night I saw it staffed. Spoke to staff the next morning and was told there was a toilet roll in the wardrobe! Bizarre and surely the off site reception could have told me that. Still no replacement tissue box anywhere. Opened the fridge on the last night to find a cheese plate. Crackers all soft so not sure how I was meant to know that it was there if there was no mention of it anywhere? I had no need to use the fridge. Went to reception 0750 this morning to check out and get breakfast/coffee all locked up. No staff in sight? Not sure why I could not get food at that time considering I had paid for breakfast in my rate. It was the most sub standard ALL property I have ever stayed in. Service appalling and not up to standard.

L'hôtel est situé dans un excellent cadre naturel. La faune locale (kangourou) est présent en nombre tout autour de l'hôtel. L'hôtel est situé dans un endroit calme. En revanche, durant notre séjour, il n'a pas été possible de prendre le petit déjeuner sur place... le restaurant était fermé deux jours consécutif. D'autre part, la chambre reçue avait vue sur le parking alors que l'hôtel était vide... c'est pas très accueillant comme façon de procéder... Après discussions, nous avons pu avoir une chambre avec vue.. La chambre standard que nous avons réservée, était un peu froide... surtout la nuit. Prévoir de mettre la climatisation à fond... Sinon, nous trouvons que pour un grand mercure... la qualité de l'hôtel n'est pas vraiment adéquate. Autre info : la réception et le restaurant ferment à 20 heures...
