Great location - only 15 minute walk to centre and some lovely shops/pubs to visit on the way. The 2 ladies on duty were very friendly and helpful - Esme and Elena - from checking us in, sorting out our tv and then serving at the bar. Plenty of choice at breakfast and everything was hot and kept topped up. Our room was very comfortable - the bed especially - and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Parking can be an issue due to the size of the car park but we were informed of a nearby alternative. Luckily we didn't need it as a space became available - all down to luck.

Visit to York and stay with Ibis again.

We visited for three days to look at the sights and go to a gig at The Barbican. I've stayed with Ibis before. Our room was ok but we found it cold. The parking situation was impossible we were not informed of the cost. We had to use the parking across the road. The car park is very small and does not have many spaces. We initially could get a coffee as I have in other ibis hotels in the bar area complimentary but on the second day a sign was put up saying we could only have complimentary drinks at breakfast. It was a bit disappointing, the staff in general were pleasant particularly the bar staff. Will complete this trip feeling disappointed.

Terrible attitude towards disabled people & access. To this company it’s ok to treat us as second class citizens!

This hotel is ok inside. Nice rooms. Comfortable beds. Good shower. But beware if you use a wheelchair! The lift from the street is broken. On asking the staff, it’s been broken for months and the company are not interested in fixing it as they have access by the back door. Yes disabled people can’t use the front entrance. No, we are second class citizens! We have to go along a narrow pavement, which has an incline towards the road. This is really dangerous for wheelchair users as our chairs pull us into the road if we are not careful. And it’s totally pitch black as there is no lighting. Then at the back door you have to use an intercom and then they open the automatic doors. But then you are faced with more doors which are not automatic. And from reception to the accessible room there are two more manual double doors. Why do so many businesses not regularly maintain their accessible equipment? Or fix them asap when they go wrong? If the main door was broken, would they expect all their customers to use the rear entrance?

The issue with the lift at the front is that the parts needed to repair this are no longer available so the lift cannot be repaired and is obsolete. We did try and help you with the internal doors when we could and we do understand your concerns with the path at the side providing access to the ramp at the back. Friendly greeting on arrival and very useful that we could leave our bags as we were a little too early to check in . The room was clean and modern but very cold . We put the heating on and it did warm the room up a little but it was draughty and still felt cold . We had to wear a jumper and socks overnight as we felt cold. However, the beds were very comfortable, lovely sheets, duvet and pillows . The room was also quiet and the black out curtains efficient . Bathroom: We found it very disappointing that the water wasn’t warm and we had to have tepid showers in the evening and the next morning . Also, as the bathroom does not have a radiator or heated towel rail it was very cold and meant the towel stayed wet from the shower the day before . Towels were very small also! The bar area was lovely and we enjoyed our drinks here. We didn’t have breakfast onsite .

What a cracker of a hotel and only 10 mins from town. Just spent one night here and I've got to say we were very impressed. Warm welcome on arrival , speedy check in and off to our room. Good size , modern design , very comfortable bed, tea & coffee facilities and spotlessly clean. Buffet breakfast ( hot , cold + Danish etc ) was super as all produce was top notch and delicious. Only niggle was the hotel parking as it is quite tight and made more difficult by selfish drivers parking outside of the bays making reversing etc a real headache but with patience I got the job done. Would definitely stay here again. Great hotel + attractive price = happy customers 😀
