We stayed 4 days at Novotel. Superb location facing Danube and Parliament House; large rooms, very comfortable beds with extra fluffy pillows, complimentary drinks placed daily in executive rooms. But very miserly with tea bags placed in rooms! Couldn't understand why as hot chocolate sachets, coffee & green tea sachets provided but we wanted English breakfast tea and at first house keeping staff wanted payment for 2 tea bags!!! When we again requested and said they could take back the other sachets and give us extra black tea bags, they reluctantly provided it. House keeping staff needs better training.

PROS: Hotel is facing Hungarian Parliament so you get a fantastic view especially at night with all the lights! Also, front desk is very helpful and nice! CONS: toilet is located in a different part of the room vs the shower area which can be inconvenient. Also, walking uphill to Fisherman's Bastion is quite tiring & need to take public transpo to get to Pest side.

Hotel is very well located in Buda on the Danube bank with gorgeous views over the Parliament. Staff was very friendly and welcoming at the desk. I was upgraded as a Platinum member, which was hugely appreciated considering the views. The only issue I can find was the curtains not properly covering the window, which made me wake up at 5:20am every morning (east direction). Breakfast was well serviced with everything needed. The breakfast was already quite busy at 6:30am but it wasn’t an issue to find a spot.

The Buda side of the river is much quieter and everyone flocks to Pest but we chose this hotel on the ‘wrong’ side and it was great. Right on the river directly opposite the beautiful Parliament building, the views are stunning and the river traffic always interesting. The room was comfortable, you could open the window -Yay!!!! Staff were friendly and helpful, food in the restaurant was good quality. It is a block or so to the metro and tram stops and a nice little area with a supermarket and some local cafes, bakery and restaurants.

The hotel is as standard hotel for Novotel ! The breakfast is good enough, you just have to ensure that you go not during the “peak hours” as it could get very messy… however the Room was great with really a fantastic view ! You should definitely wake up very early to witness the Sunset over the Parliament !
