Lovely new modern hotel. Right in the shopping district. Easy to find. Eateries and sights all around. Perfect location. Car parks nearby too. Very helpful and friendly staff. Quiet and clean.

Good and clean

This hotel was good, clean, and not fancy, like all the other Ibis hotels we stayed in New Zealand. Upsides: location was perfect, right next to the Riverside market and trolley line. The hotel staff were very responsive and tried their best to be helpful. Shower was good with decent water pressure. Downsides: this hotel, like all the other Ibis hotels, only offers one all-in-one shampoo and shower gel for the shower, and no conditioner. Also the woman at the front desk was friendly but really struggled to understand me when I talked to her - it might have been my American accent and that she had English as a second language, but it was frustrating nonetheless.

Great location, Staff lovely, rooms clean and comfy, ate at their restaurant , but what will make us choose them next time are the little extras… $10 voucher for bar or dinner, chocolates and nice welcoming note in room, and happy hour. Thank you those little extras are appreciated

Very clean hotel. Staff is friendly. Very simple room. Located downtown. We ate dinner and Breakfast at the Perch restaurant. Very nice selection of breakfast items at the buffet.

Sighs to the parking situation

The location was great but parking not so. If u have a car, you need to pray very hard that Latimer Square has a free parking lot for you if not you will have to pay for parking. It was 10 min walk away and with luggage it is no joke. There are free 5 min parking just outside the hotel for us to load luggage etc but there are taxis and cars waiting there (definitely for more than 5 min) and they took up all the lots. This happened to us when we first arrived and even on the day we left -_- We kind of regretted not choosing another hotel with free parking. We had a toddler so there were many bags and we had to lug them from a distance away. Otherwise, it is a hotel in the central area of Christchurch and you can walk to Riverside Market from there. Everything else requires you to drive so getting a hotel with a convenient and free parking lot is more important. From staying at so many places in NZ, most are squeaky clean- likewise Ibis.

While we do offer the free 5-minute parking for loading and unloading, I can see how the busy area might make it tricky at times.
