Stayed here for a friends birthday weekend with my partner. Staff were very helpful and let us check in early upon arrival as room was ready. Room was large, clean and had all the amenities you expected. Used the pool in the morning and was great although there was a kids swimming group on when we went which meant it was a little busy. Although a little expensive for what it was (we have stayed in the Park Plaza for the same price on a weekend and would say it’s a little nicer there), it’s still a great hotel.

Just to inform I am a child. When I went to Novotel hotel it was very pleasant the people there were very welcoming and you can come and go as you please. When I was there it was my birthday and I very much enjoyed it the pool is nice and very relaxing! Yes it’s not the fanciest but as soon as I said it was my birthday they came out with a brownie with a candle in it and sang for me . I recommend their brownies it caught my eye very delicious and gooey. I rate them 10/10. Their breakfast is wonderful lots of choice and the area is very lovely too so if you are looking for an affordable place to stay with your friends and family then I really do recommend coming here. ESPECIALLY ON YOUR BIRTHDAY!!! 😊😊😊

Great hotel and facilities! Very reasonably priced.Very helpful lady called Megan on reception, very informative 👏 will definitely be back! Great location within walking distance of cardiff city centre! One lift was out of order, that caused a fee issues.

Well well well… in my French spirit (because why the British don’t complain I’ll have no idea) poor service and quality should be named and shamed! We only had to book this place as a last resort.. and well…firstly what kind of crap hotel room doesn’t have a plug by the bed?! just blank bits where a plug should be! Finally on the tour I got a bathroom mirror with a ring light.. BUT the darkest bloody light ever, i could hardly even see my face!…And my colleague got a fridge but i didn’t… so considering there is no dairy free milk option with the coffee i couldn’t even bring my own milk. Also the drilling… my god the drilling… (wish i could add a video) ON THE OTHER SIDE OF MY WALL! how these geniuses thought it was a good idea to do this when their hotel was possibly the busiest it’s ever been i have no clue (the builder shouting on the phone in the car park was a nice touch too) I had no chance of having a nap before my long job! And to complain about this I had to go all the way downstairs (in the stupid slow lift) and wait AGAIN for the lack of reception staff to serve me, because there’s no phone in the bloody room!! …. The guy said they try to do it outside main hours.. well I'd say right after people check in is main hours!!! And all for the bargain price of £500 for one night! Just because they could, due to the event. Bet they didn’t pay the poor cleaners any more either did they?! I feel a cab back to London would have actually been cheaper, and preferable! That’s before we even get to the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The floor might have been better. 2 single beds pushed together, which can sometimes work, but not when the join is so noticeable it digs right into your back. My bad shoulder is agony this morning. Possibly 3 hours terrible sleep, if that. If I’d had a car I would have gone and slept in it, actually if i had a car i would have driven away, fast. Oh goodness I nearly forgot the stupid lift system, my colleague was put on a different floor to me, and there’s no way to access different floors later on when we finished work at midnight. She went downstairs and the guy finally reluctantly let her up to give me something, but not before she saw him ignoring some crying woman in reception! Do yourself a favour and book a lovely Raddison Blu or even a Premier Inn. Oh and the door sign.. is a joke. Maybe there should be another option? like ‘I’m sleeping go away?’ i feel this is very presumptuous! And what the hell is the rank thing in the shower?!

Really dissapointed with this place, made for a very long business week away. My usual hotel of choice was unavailable due to someone called Pink playing in Cardiff so booked in here from sunday to friday. Where to start then- well parked OK as it was quite ill yout waity bieng sunday night. Check in was sketchy if im honest, the bare minimum of contact and interaction at the reception desk. I asked about paying for parking and got a mumbled answer about wait until you check out. So 2nd floor room, in fairness size wise its fine. Im a little undecided about the chinese style opaque glass doors on the bathroom right next to the bed, interesting concept shall we say. Now bieng ex military cleanliness is my next stop, on the face of it seemed fine. However see attached for the bigger picture, lackng sadly in the bathroom, walls are dust ridden in the bedroom area, easily seen when laying down looking up the wall. The bed on the plus side was good. Breakfast doesnt start while 0700 so that put me back each day. Quality is fine there. So why did I say poor? its disorganised, when I asked the following morning about parking just to check I was given a very curt and unfriendly "as long as you do it before you go", well sorry for disturbing you! The dog, yes dog, in the room nect to me was a tad annoying. Evening meal, the bar/ restuarant area is very noisey. Very loud music adn seemed very disorgansied. Tonight on my last night (thursday) after a hard day at work all I wanted was a quiet dinner and a pint, no chance , they had a singer in the restaurant for goodness sake. If you want a relaxing meal dont stay here YOU WONT GET IT. I think there are a couple of good staff here let down by the many, the cleanliness and the noisey dining area. My advice is dont come here for a relaxing break.
