Usual Mercure experience. I didn't like the breakfast system though. No problem with the 3 rounds but that you need to queue even for a glass of water is nonsense. It was obvious that the servers were the same annoyed like the guests. This is not good for anybody. I understand it is covid but I was in other Italian hotels as well and there was normal buffet. Also please turn off the beeping of the lift. Our room was next to the lift and the beeping was hearable from the room in the evening.

About the breakfast, we know that it could be better to have a free buffet, but in this period the health and safety of our guests is our priority. There is an Accor protocol called All Safe that we have to respect and there are italian laws which prohibit the free buffet. This is what we do, what others do we do not care. We were disappointed overall. The front desk staff were consistently unfriendly and the we thought the property needed renovation. Staff in the breakfast room were friendlier.

Efficient check-in, staff professional and friendly. Room was clean - more important than ever these days - but nothing out of the ordinary. Furniture has seen better days, as had the curtains and the lock on the window. Bed of standard quality, I liked the pillows though. Bathroom amply supplied, clean and good water pressure of the shower. The breakfast was well organized according to the sanitary measures in place. The available choice not exceptional, but at a decent average. I had better, I had worse. Overall - bit of a non-descript hotel, offering a decent price / quality ratio in the middle of the city. Would I come back? Maybe ... but I might be tempted to check out other offerings in the same price range.

No significant problems. Breakfast worked out ok in spite of seeming complicated. Bedroom lighting could be improved. Light was bright over the bed and dim over the desk. Exactly the reverse of what is needed! Thanks

Really good stay, perfect location, room clean and confortable. It's a pity for the lady at reception I talked with on sunday morning at reception that was really not welcoming (and I resolved the issue with other personnel in the afternoon).

Gentile Ospite, Desidero ringraziarla per il tempo dedicato a scriverci in seguito al Suo soggiorno presso Mercure Palermo Centro. Sono spiacente che il servizio non sia stato all’altezza delle sue aspettative e La prego di accettare le nostre più sincere scuse. Riguardo alla Sua richiesta di late check-out, ho parlato con lo staff del ricevimento e purtroppo di mattina non Le è stato concesso perché l'appartamento sarebbe stato occupato dai nuovi ospiti nel primo pomeriggio (abbiamo soltanto due appartamenti quindi non sarebbe stato possibile un cambio). Successivamente siamo stati informati che i nuovi ospiti sarebbero arrivati di sera ed alla Sua nuova richiesta è stato possibile concederle la partenza alle 16:00. La ringrazio nuovamente per i suoi commenti e ci auguriamo di riconquistare la Sua fiducia in occasione del Suo prossimo soggiorno a Palermo Nell’attesa di accoglierla nuovamente al Mercure Palermo Centro, le porgo miei più cordiali saluti Andrea Stancato Direttore/Manager

+ good location in city center + friendly and attentive staff + good breakfast - rooms need a refurbishment - air conditioning not working properly (even after service tech checked) - breakfast service (a buffet where staff picked the wanted items for you) too slow - long queues

Incompetent front desk and not status rewards in sight

There was nothing at all to show for my gold Accor status but that is fine, I'm not snobby about things like this. What really soured the experience was having our room key cancelled because reception had photocopied the wrong page of my passport during check in and decided to rectify this by locking us out of our room and forcing us down to reception. A phone call would have been sufficient, especially as it was their error. Room itself was fine but could have been better given it had a balcony which was very dirty and had no furniture at all. Would look elsewhere were I to return to Palermo.

The experience is generally positive.. I have had two unsatisfactory experiences which left me an unpleasant fklavor, not expected from the standard of Mercure. 1) the room is supposed available from 12 according to your claim. We arrived at 13 and we had to wait in the lobby about 15-20 minutes before having a room. One reason of the decision was associated to the immediate availability of the room, so this was very unsatisfactory. 2) the morning, while moving across the lobby to the elevator, we cold hear one employee in the breakfast zone fighting with another employee. The voice was high and it was evident that one was complaining the other for some reason. As a guest, I pretend not to experience a nervous environment in the hotel. All the rest was of high standard as expected and the room was larger than I expected. I don't think that organizing the breakfast with hourly access at 7, 8 and 9 prevents pandemics. Indeed, people instead of accessing randomly, is queued all at once in the same minutes.

Nothing like a 4star hotel. Dirty floor, no slippers in the room, needed to beg for slippers at the reception. No water in the room - need to buy it in the bar. Breakfast was worst ever, no self service and no options - warm food just omelet and 1 bacon. Parking garage only for highly experienced drivers. I scratched the wheel and rental company charged almost 100eur for it.

I booked a superior room for me and my wife and I found the furnishing tired, the carpet stained, a hole in the mattress cover and the curtains crumpled and threadbare.

Hotel is located close to the main attractions of Palermo. Wallet parking is available, which is great (parking and driving in Palermo is challenging). We booked half-bored option - breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff very nice and helpful. Room was clean, but the furniture and floor covering ruined down. Nice big balcony with a city view.

Strange silent noise in the room (number 611), we didn't even report it to the reception. Cold room not able to heat up with AC...it just didn't work for heating up. Very weak and slow Wi-Fi. The furniture was really outdated nad not in 100% shape. One reception lady was extremely helpful and kind, unfortunately she never had her name on the uniform. The other reception staff members were also nice but that lady was really amazing!!!

It was an exceptional experience staying at this hotel. The hotel is close to everything so its very convenient to visit all the places. The highlight were the staff of this hotel, they were very welcoming and fiendly. They always had smile on their face, nohing is too much for them when asked. They couldn't do enough for you. We had our flight cancelled at the last min and although it was fustrating and upsetting that we were stack there but the staff made us feel happy, we had to spend our christmas in the hotel and the staff provided us with christmas meal. All the staffs were deserves praise. Namely Martina, Valeria, Nadia and Barbara, they were exceptionally outstanding in their customer service. thank you again for your hospitality and we hope to see you again in the future.

it’s a fine hotel, but it’s sad that they don’t provide iron!

i would actually give Mercure a 5 star but there denial in providing me with iron is what has let me to give three stars. it was really sad that they would not have an iron and iron board! breakfast was 4 on 5 dinner was 3 on 5 also it’s sad that they provide preheated frozen food in there resturant . so the bottom line is if you don’t need an iron for your clothes and you can find an alternative to there restaurant then it is a nice compact place .It’s a good hotel for 1-2 nights . But more than that i would suggest to avoid. Also may be due to covid regulations the AC was not working . also the front desk is nice and responsive.

Unfortunately, as my colleague explained you, for safety reasons we cannot provide any iron and iron board in the room, but we do provide an external laundry service for any need. I would like to apologise furthermore for the dinner you experienced: the menu offers a wide range of fresh choices, I am sorry If you felt your dish was not fresh as It was supposed to be. I will talk to the F&B manager to make sure that the waiter will help any customer on this hard choice of the fresh dish.
