Great stay. Everything as hope with kind and efficient reception staff. The room was nice and spacious - it was also quiet. The breakfast was also good. I can’t complain about anything. Location wise the hotel is fine - short walks to the various pats of the city or down to the port. They organised a shuttle taxi from the airport. If I return to the city I would likely stay again at the sms hotel. Thank you

we arrived tired, I did wrong booking, front office stay could manage to change booking from a standard room for 1 person to a superior room for my wife and I . we needed 3 more pillow , which were brought to us promptly.

Too noisy to sleep properly, being able to sleep well is probably the most important aspect of any accommodation. Your hotel fails to provide a quiet peaceful environment necessary for a good nights sleep. It’s a big failure on your part.

I arrived on a Sunday, and the trash/garbage situation all around the hotel was disgusting (obviously a city services issue.) My room was clean and comfortable, other than a noisy toilet. The breakfast was very very good and the snappy staff is constantly replenishing and cleaning. A lovely girl named Anna was posted at the cappuccino/espresso machine and she literally never stopped. She was happy to make you as many as you wanted, and she would deliver them with a smile that extended over her mask. She was fluent in English and Italian and was a joy to see each morning. The hotel is very well located, safe and comfortable, with a nice lobby and lobby bar.

Well located hotel

Very well located hotel for travel to important historical sites and within 25 min walking from train station. Room was relatively quiet. Rooms could do with a make over as the furniture was old and the dark colours of furniture and flooring made room feel not so fresh/ airy. Good sunblock / blackout curtains but room still became very hot. TV in room but only 2 English speaking channels available. Room was a double but it had only one chair and one glass in the bathroom!! A double room should have double everything.It gave the impression that it was for single use except that there were double sets of towels in bathroom. The room on the 6th floor had a balcony but no chairs and since there was only one chair in the room we could not make the most of this facility. Front desk did supply us with extra glass and pillows when requested. Paper cups supplied for tea making but we felt these were a safety issue and that porcelain cups should be available. Again they were supplied when requested. Only tea offered. No creamer or coffee but milk was provided when we contacted the front desk.Our main concern was that the room was advertised as having air con but the advertisement did not say that this was not available all year round! Our room was extremely warm/ stuffy at night. Reception told me it was not summer time yet. However for overseas guests like us who come from colder climates it did seem like summer and air conditioning would have made our stay so much more comfortable, especially at night.T If the Air con is only available during certain months this should be stated on all websites that promote this hotel. Breakfast was good . Good selection of Sicilian pastries but the menu was quite repetitive and we would have liked to have experienced some other specialities .Hot scrambled egg, bacon, sausage available.Bigger tea cups would also be welcome.Some fresh fruit also available. Good COVID protection measures evident in restaurant. All Staff were very helpful and professional.

To be honest, rooms needs bit of refreshments (maybe my room was bit old and some others were new), other than, the necessary basics were there. (Although in the rooms, there were no iron table, and no cattle, bottles of water were not free of charge). Location is good, as we didnt want to be in the very noisy city center area, so it was walking distance but in a quieter area, which was really good. The breakfast service was "OK" standards. no more no less (good selection of pastry, if you prefer having sweet breakfast, its good) (I on the other hand wanted to have boiled egg, but only scramble eggs were available). Of course, being in ITaly, good cofee is available, but queue to get in, as there is only couple of machines, and one person trying to serve everyone (which is normal, as they use proper coffee machines)

Usual Mercure experience. I didn't like the breakfast system though. No problem with the 3 rounds but that you need to queue even for a glass of water is nonsense. It was obvious that the servers were the same annoyed like the guests. This is not good for anybody. I understand it is covid but I was in other Italian hotels as well and there was normal buffet. Also please turn off the beeping of the lift. Our room was next to the lift and the beeping was hearable from the room in the evening.

There is an Accor protocol called All Safe that we have to respect and there are italian laws which prohibit the free buffet. This is what we do, what others do we do not care. We were disappointed overall. The front desk staff were consistently unfriendly and the we thought the property needed renovation. Staff in the breakfast room were friendlier.

i would actually give Mercure a 5 star but there denial in providing me with iron is what has let me to give three stars. it was really sad that they would not have an iron and iron board! breakfast was 4 on 5 dinner was 3 on 5 also it’s sad that they provide preheated frozen food in there resturant . so the bottom line is if you don’t need an iron for your clothes and you can find an alternative to there restaurant then it is a nice compact place .It’s a good hotel for 1-2 nights . But more than that i would suggest to avoid. Also may be due to covid regulations the AC was not working . also the front desk is nice and responsive.

Unfortunately, as my colleague explained you, for safety reasons we cannot provide any iron and iron board in the room, but we do provide an external laundry service for any need. I would like to apologise furthermore for the dinner you experienced: the menu offers a wide range of fresh choices, I am sorry If you felt your dish was not fresh as It was supposed to be. I will talk to the F&B manager to make sure that the waiter will help any customer on this hard choice of the fresh dish. Hotel well located, and personnel friendly. Rooms cleans, but air conditioning noisy and mattress sounded every time you moved. They were willing to change rooms but the hotel was full, and had to wait for next day to change it, but we had tours and did'' wanted to waste time.
