Worst Accor hotel I’ve ever been to!

This hotel is a building site and Accor should be ashamed to call it an hotel! Nothing mentioned about any issues with the hotel on the website when I booked. When booking in we were not informed of any issues with the rooms either. When I went down to ask why the air conditioning was not working, receptionist just pointed to a fan and said no aircon! Problem was that, when we arrived our car was reading 39°C. The room was almost unbearable. The only saving grace of this hotel is that it is by a tram stop, so it was easy to get to the city centre. Would I book this hotel again. NO Would I recommend it to anyone! NO By far the worst Accor hotel I have ever stayed in.

Another Ibis hotel with no restaurant. The restaurant is currently undergoing refurbishment, which means that there are no restaurant facilities and the hotel is like a dusty, half-derelict building site. There is no mention of this when you book: Ibis are still advertising the hotel with a restaurant and free wifi. Which doesn’t work. The staff are dispirited, doubtless by their working environment, and are practically invisible. Ibis hotels used to be clean, comfortable and with a simple but satisfying menu, which is all you need when you have been travelling all day. Ibis management seem to have lost sight of this. I was a great supporter of this brand for many years but now I’ve had it with them. I’ll stick to IHG in future.

We https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/UserReview-g187091-d1071353-Ibis_Budget_Clermont_Ferrand_Centre_Montferrand-Clermont_Ferrand_Puy_de_Dome_Auvergne_Rhone_Alpe.html 4 rooms on way to holiday and 4 rooms on way back. On way there no problems, polite, helpful staff. NOT the case on way back Friday 26/8. Rude unhelpful staff, who wanted to charge one of us for drink, but with no price list. When asked apparently the price list is private and no receipt could be provided! Screams out that someone on the make. Also staff entered one of the rooms while we loading cars and hadn’t even checked out which is totally unacceptable. So unfortunately you missed out on 14 breakfast on Saturday 27/8 as we all went elsewhere. I know this is a budget hotel but don’t expect to be shouted at when we are paying customers. Would like to speak to someone about having some money refunded and some of your staff need to be trained in customer services and also conveniently don’t understand English which is not what is advertised! Very bad experience and definitely not happy.

The Ibis Budget Hotel offered a secure nights accommodation at a very reasonable rate. The reception staff were professional and friendly. The room was as expected, clean and very basic. The immediate area is reasonably safe but when I walked into the centre I did feel a little intimidated by a couple of groups of homeless alcoholics/drug users. To avoid them use public transport or cabs if you need to go to the centre of town.

Hotel location is quite far from the Clermont Ferrand city center. Easy check-in and check-out. My room faced a cemetery. I had booked the buffet breakfast but it was too basic and not worth to pay for it.
