Unexpected and poor services from such reputed 4 star International hotel

It was unprofessional and much unexpected treatment from such 4 star International hotel at Frankfurt. With reference to my hotel stay at your hotel Mercure Frankfurt Eschborn Helfmann Park-1 during 29th July 2018 to 4th July 2018, Following things had happened with me and I felt very embarrassed in this situation. I was coming to Germany first time after completing my 9 and half hours journey from India and there was poor cooperation from the hotel staff in spite of understanding my difficulty.

I stayed there 2 nights for business purpose. The premium room at special price I booked in advance was not available on my arrival. Instead I got a standard tiny room with bugs - I could move to another standard room after I did complain. No iron or iron board in the room, you must go to the 3rd floor in a Iron room. Not convenient when you are on business trip and stay several nights if you need to iron shirts etc. Breakfast costs a fortune really for such a poor quality and so little choice. Very disappointing. And in the end, I was over charged with the invoice whereas I had to stay in a room of lower standard than the one I originally booked. I complained online to Accor. Noboby never came back to me. I do not recommend at all that hotel- the customer service is absent - you are just a number paying for a room. No matter how bad is the service.

The hotel didn't provide any surprise neither good or bad it was what was expected and the staff were great. Breakfast ticked all the boxes and there was plenty of it. Next time I am I the area I will probably lay my head on a pillow here again

Room 414 should not be given to anyone until the smell (muffelig) is taken care of. I am not a picky person but it was unbearable to stay in this room. I was given another room right away which was up to the Mercure standard.

On March 18, I reserved and pay in advance a "Privilege room with Queen size bed", which was suppose to come with "VIP bathroom, bathrobe, slippers, snack, mineral water and free newspaper". But when I arrived on May 10, the room I was given was just an average one. When I addressed this concern to the Management the following day, I was told that the only Privilege room left on May 10 was a smoking one (but this was not even proposed to me..). The management proposed to give me back 40 EUR on my Visa card, but, maybe because the Visa card I used to book and pay in March ended in April 2017, the refund never arrived on my new Visa card. So my advice is : never pay in advance.

1 class service from the staff at the hotel. Always ready to help you if it's needed. Nice room and perfect cleaned. I was missing a bottle opener either in the room or at the buying machine but that's just a little thing to improve. The breakfast was splendid and both the checkin and the checkout went quick.

Standard rooms, nice entrance, bar and restaurant area. Conventient accomodation for 1-3 overnight stays - manly if you are there for work the entire day and simply look for a quite place to recap the day and have a glass of wine.

I paid an extra 30 euro's to be able to check in early at 8am when I arrived the room wasn't ready, was told housekeeping doesn't start until 8am, whats the point of offering this service when the cleaners don't start work until the check in time. So I said I would go and have some breakfast whilst they cleaned the room expecting to not be charged for it but they wanted to charge that to my room, so I asked for the manager and then they said okay go for breakfast no charge, when I saw the breakfast available it was poor for a hotel of this standard, cold and poor selection in the hot food area. Finally got in my room at 8-40am as a platinum card holder with Accor Hotels staying 12 weeks of the year with them not one of their best efforts.
