We have stayed at the Novotel Queenstown Lakeside hotel repeatedly over the years, and during our recent 4-day stay have been delighted to re-experience the quality of care that has brought us back again. Even though our previous stay was 8 months ago, senior, concierge and reception staff recognised us on arrival and greeted us warmly. The appearance of the hotel is smart and inviting, the room was spotless as usual, the buffet breakfast comprehensive and excellent, the dinners excellent, the spa restorative, and the garden inviting. Special opportunity was created to experience and celebrate the America's Cup races. The Bangladeshi cricketers were made to feel comfortable and at home. Throughout all, we sensed and appreciated the quality of staff team spirit. The challenges of COVID-19 have necessitated flexibility and collaboration, and we as guests have benefited. When unexpectedly busy, senior staff have chipped in to help where needed; others have multi-tasked smoothly. We noticed at all times that staff were attentive and helpful, ready to offer extra support where needed - as with a guest confined to crutches and wheelchair after a recent tramping accident. The reciprocity of warmth and friendship we experienced with staff at all levels made this stay, like the precious one, a precious vacation experience. Thank you so much! We already look forward to a return visit in spring!

Fantastic week in Queenstown. Fantastic location, very good sized rooms along with amenities, very good breakfast and top class evening meals. Staff were excellent and very helpful to all requests. Cant wait till next time

Dear jabcab2021 People that stay anywhere for a week normally get to see a Hotel in a bit more depth than those that only stay a night or two and there is more time for something to go wrong. Our longer stay guests are important to us and the times gives us an opportunity to better engage. All of our guests are important to us and particularly now when the International borders are closed and business levels are impacted. Great location of this hotel, convenient to the city center and all attractions, bars and eateries. Reception and restaurant staff very welcoming. Good choice of breakfast. Rooms very tired and needs upgrading - should remove the baths and have shower only - not practical and is safety issue.

The owners of the hotel are planning refurbishment at the moment and working through this process - we have certainly raised the need to change out the baths in most cases - they have been there for a long time with very few incidents but we do agree that most people these days are more interested in having a shower if they have to choose. We do know that when these works are done that we will have a great hotel - best location in town and great staff so a bit of a winning combination. In the meantime the rooms on the 4th floor are more modern as they were added new to the hotel a few years back Thanks Jim Moore General Manager

Were in Queenstown for a conference and having stayed here before, it was just like coming home after a long time away. The staff were friendly and helpful, the accommodations were clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. I was away for most of the days we were here, but my wife was wonderfully looked after by the room service staff who managed to ensure that she didn't starve. A wonderful time all round.

I have stayed previously, but the hotel is looking very tied now. Service was good however unsure if I’d stay again due to its appearance. Location is excellent being central to everything. We did get an upgrade which was nice. Thanks

The Hotel does have rooms at different ages and stages but our aim is to maintain them and present all rooms in a clean and tidy condition regardless of the age - we do have rooms on the top floor of the hotel that were built new a few years back and therefore are newer than other rooms. We are certainly aware that the time is coming for refurbishment and the owners are planning for these works but these things do take time to come to fruition and there is a lot involved. With Covid this has also impacted on these plans but I am sure that when they are ready they will invest to ensure that the hotel will match the superior location that we enjoy making it one of the best options to stay in Queenstown. Very impressed with the staff, big shoutout to Joseph on check-in and sorting out a good parking spot for me. This is a well run and operated hotel with staff that are keen to help and are happy to be there. Walking distance to Queenstown cafes, restaurants and everything. Well done Novotel Queenstown, you need to show teach the Novotel Auckland Airport how to run a hotel.

Due to Covid and the impacts on the business we unfortunately had 50 of our team leave to return home to their own countries or closer to home in New Zealand and we lost some amazing talent with great tenure at the Hotel. Thankfully some have gone on to working at our hotels in their home regions which has been a great outcome. Our message to our staff that have stayed on is that we owe it to those team members that had to leave to regrow the business as quickly as possible ( which is tough while the borders are closed) and to look after all of the guests that we get - I think that they do an amazing job and that they are a great team - our challenge with less staff is when the business levels fluctuate as they tend to do in these environments it makes it a bit tricky. Thanks for your comments - it is a shame that your experience at Novotel Airport was not as we would want - personally I have had some great experiences at that hotel and the General Manager is someone I look up to as a great leader. It does show that our business is about consistency and trying to get it right every time - regrettably that is never possible with every interaction but it does drive us to do what we do. Location is Good. But, The Room Rate are too High. Over-priced!! As a Paid Accor Plus Member, I did NOT enjoy my time here. Pay Extra NZD$25 for Breakfast. However, this Hotel Needs Upgrade As soon as possible...

It is disappointing that as a Loyalty member you did not see value and that you felt that the Hotel was over priced - our aim is to offer value to our guests based on similar hotels in Queenstown depending on the demand at the time of booking. We also want all of our guests to be happy and especially our Loyalty Guests so we are sorry that you feel this way. As a member it appears you got at least a 10% off the public rate and I believe you had a second room that you got 50% off as well as 50% off breakfast and free breakfast for kids. Our owners are working on plans to refurbish the hotel but regrettably Covid has possibly slowed this down slightly but we hope that these works will happen at some point in the not too distant future. As managers we try hard to ensure that our team looks after our guests and that the hotel is presented to the best of our ability. Great one night stay with comfortable bed and helpful friendly staff. The food at the 'Elements' restaurant was beautifully presented and tasty. Only restriction was the limited Novotel carpark spaces on site or there is a 'Wilsons' underground carpark nearby to use. Very close to shops and Lake.

As accor members for many years it was worse experience we have had. On arrival Swipe cards did not work,had to ask for our complimentary drink vouchers, No water in room, lift did not work on several occasions, no offer to help with bags on checkout.Ended up paying for complimentary upgrade, insisted we had lunch, we did not. Extremely rude man at desk, would not be tolerated at any other hotel or business. Wish we had heard earlier from locals that this hotel had a bad reputation. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL

We had a lovely time at the Novotel in Queenstown.Choose to upgrade to a appartment which was the best thing we did,Did cost extra but for us to have the space was well worth it.Very clean accommodation and friendly staff.Breakfasts were huge but still managed to eat to much.Evening meals were really tasty.Check in and out was very easy.

Awesome spot - walk out the door and close to everything. Rooms need a bit of an update but beds comfy and amenities all satisfactory. Happy hour was advertised but when you actually went to the bar it was only on Speights and not that much cheaper - surely if they had happy hour across the board they would get more guests drinking in their lounge bar or at least be a bit more description of their "Blackboard Happy Hour". Breakfast well overpriced, walked to another cafe to get it for half the price. Would have thought an establishment like this would be trying to encourage their guests to eat and drink in.......

We are sorry to hear that you felt parts of the offering did not give value to you - normally breakfast is a full buffet breakfast which is popular to both our guests and locals and unfortunately due to Covid 19 we had to stop this. The buffet will be coming back soon once business recovers a bit and in the interim we have been providing a range of options that seem to be enjoyed by most. In regards to "Happy Hour" the discounts allowed by the local liquor licensing are fairly minimal and we do try to keep to this but we will review what we do and may be able to do something else. Good to hear you enjoyed your bed - we replaced most of them and the bedding not that long ago as we do realise that it is a key component of an enjoyable stay. We also replaced the TVs, alarm clocks, Internet service, spa pool, gym equipment and a number of other areas. We were working on a major refurbishment project which may get delayed in the current environment but we hope will not be too far away. Thanks for staying - we hope to see you again some time.
