A basic Ibis style hotel. Its clean. Friendly front desk staff. Good wifi. English news channels on the telly. Breakfast is 12 € (from 06:30). Very easy to get to the city center of Hamburg on the U3 local train Line. Small local restaurants and large shopping mall in the local area . Aldi and Rewe supermarkets next door.

We will be back!

Always nice! Quick stop on our way to the alps. Superfriendly staff in the reception, nice familyroom. Good parking possibilities even with a big car with a roofbox model xl The only thing missing on the breakfust was bacon, otherwise nice(as always) Good coronarestrictions-felt very safe. We will stop the next time we are on our way south

Stayed at Ibis Style Alster City in Hamburg during the Rotary Convention 2019. A good choice as it is near the Railway Station to the Convention. Also with simple neighborhood restaurants, next to Aldi Convenient Store. We arrived on June 1, when the weather was still quite nice, not to hot. We do open the windows at night, so the room is nice an cool. we like the simple breakfast selection and the the coffee. I can make my "kopi tubruk" orr collision coffee, just pour hot water to the fine grind coffee in the mug. Thank you for a nice stay at your hotel, to all the staff at Ibis Style Alster City.

This is typically average standard tourist hotel close to the Alster lake. The staffs are very friendly and speaks English and they are very helpful. The rooms are nice and clean though not very spacious. There is a garage in the basement. You are close to the train station and shopping area. If you are looking for a good middle range hotel then this is the place to stay.

First time in an Ibis Styles and positively surprised

Well aware of what to expect from an Ibis, I decided to give this section of the Ibis selection a chance by staying a bit detached from downtown Hamburg but not that far; one is at the heart of the city in no time, tube station U3 Hamburger Strasse is no 5min away on foot! The aera is purely residential, extremely quiet, really away from the hussle and bussle, perfect for families; in the surroundings one finds supermarkets, coffee shops, small restaurantes, a petrol stations and one shopping mall, the famous Hamburger Meile! The concept of style differs depending on the location, the idea is to adapt to the area and make basic special: if that is the target, they did succeed in this ibis Style branch, although it could definitely cost a little less for not being that central... Similar standards found in any Ibis around the world can be expected there, though I got amazed at how large the room was, compared to a usual tiny Ibis size! There is no wardrobe in the room, the floor is carpeted, I couldn't find where to control the temperature and the worktable is too small for an adult; some furniture is already a bit tired and scratched, bathroom is all right but towels are reaching their due lifetime... Breakfast is rather basic but you really won't miss anything there; bread is fresch but juice isn't and only scrambled eggs are the warm options. But bear in mind it is an Ibis anyway and the the hotel lays between two supermarkets, if you miss something! It's a place to bear in mind for short stays in the future but management should really see into price, for it should really cost much less given its location and what it offers - thumbs-up, though, anyway!
