I stayed at this hotel as part of a Newmarket Tour of Carcassonne and Provence. I admit it would not have been my first choice. But it was very last minute. First the hotel is budget. It exceeded my expectations in many ways. But for me the location is just not right for single women who are travelling on a tour, but have to eat elsewhere as the hotel's restaurant does not serve food at the weekend. What is good. The rooms are in good condition, with a comfy bed. Towels are a bit on the thin side, but fo the job. There is a walk in shower. Shower gel and hand wash is provided. However no shampoo or body lotion. It does have a hair dryer, despite the website saying it doesn't. The rooms are not large, but have noise insulation. There is a bar that is not to expensive. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. The majority speak english. The restaurant is open for meals during the week. The menue is limited to two choices and one dish of the day. Unfortunately no choice was vegetarian, despite Newmarket telling me they catered for vegetarians. I ate once in the restaurant and the reception gentleman took a dish from the starter menue as a main. This was a start accompanied by a tasteless lettuce. The tart was actually tasty. As it was the same choice every night I didn't eat there again. Swimming Pool. What is not so good. First if you are travelling through France and need a one night stay near the motorway then this is a good location. For me who was based in Carcassonne for my Tour it was not a good location. It is sited on an industrial estate 2.4kl from the centre of the city. Not well lit and no footpaths. In my opinion not suitable for walking into the city at night as a single female. Newmarket please take note.

We booked this hotel knowing that it was about 15 mins walk from the Medieval village and castle. Arrival. - hotel had a small car park at the front and a large car park at the rear. It is built over 4 floors but on a slope so actually one floor is below ground from the front. Car park was free which is a great addition and keeps costs lower. It was also secure at in the rear car park with a gate and a code required. Welcome - very friendly staff with lots of information and always there to help if you had any questions. Room - small but that’s as standard for Ibis Budget but had all the basics required. Room was very clean and felt fresh as did and bedding and towels etc. room was on the same level as reception which is the first floor - level with the entrance. Hotel doesn’t use keys instead you get given a 6 figure code to open your room door. TIP take a pic of the code so you always have it with you. Bathroom very clean and lots of hot water. Room was a little dark as only one little light in entrance way and then a lamp by bed and two bedside LEDS. We were on the front of the hotel and didn’t hear any road noise at all during the two nights. Room has air con for cold and heat. Breakfast - restaurant was small and couldn’t really cope with the number of customers during our 2 night stay. Avoid between 9-10am if you can. On both days the place was very full and felt very cramped. It was only the receptionist who does reception and has to clear tables and replenish all the breakfast items. Lots of items had not been replenished and this was worse on the second morning. I had to ask for quite a few items. Breakfast consisted of continental type with pasties like croissants, bread, some jams, ham and cheese and some type of ffruit salad type thing. There was a hot drink machine and a juice machine. There was also a jug of water in the little glass fridge. Selection wasn’t great and as mentioned not refilled regularly although not the poor receptionists fault as she was so busy. There were also concerns about hygiene as we asked for more bread and the receptionist was emptying plates and putting them into a dishwasher. She came straight out with a packet of bread and with her bare hands that she had just been emptying plates with, she opened the bread wrapper and took out the bread and placed it on the Buffett. On Saturday we asked for ham and she was emptying plates again and came straight out went to a fridge and got a packet of ham like the supermarket and without washing her hands then took each slice of ham out of the packet with bare hands and put it into the glass fridge. Staff - all three staff members that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. I reduced our rating based on the poor offering for breakfast , the concerns over the hygiene and the small restaurant. Overall for €73 Por night including breakfast it was very clean and very friendly staff. Let down by breakfast

Great rooms. Everything as a expected. Clean. Calm neighbourhood with limited traffic. Very friendly and helpful person at the reception. Gated parking is small so we didn’t have space when we came back in the evening after visiting the old town. You can park your car at the side of the road. Didn’t take the breakfast but you have bakery very close which sells bread, croissants, baguettes and hot coffee. Hotel is very close to the town center.

Good location close to old town and bus stops. Airport within easy reach by public transport including dedicated shuttle bus at cost of 6 euros per journey. Copious breakfast options. Comfortable room and decent WiFi. Excellent value for money

This is a pretty standard Ibis Budget Hotel, with the usual clean, but spartan accommodations. It is located near the main highway and just a couple miles from the ancient city fortifications. The cold breakfast was more than adequate with a reasonable selection. Staff were firendly and helpful. There's plenty of free parking on location - the back lot is secured with a passcode for entrance. There are only a few restaurants nearby.
