The hotel felt old, depressing colors and had no atmosphere. For sure we are in COVID times but that is not an excuse. Your lady that checked us in was amazing and so professional and a credit to the hotel. Please thank her. The hotel had no Accor Group pull or 'fabulousness!'

I like the Accor brands and I usually have a good experience, but not this time. Check-in was extremely slow and bureaucratic, and the room & hallway badly needed renovation.

The bathrooms and rooms looks old, feels old, smells old. The carpet floors closed there for a long time gives a dirty smell. You don’t feel at all that you are in a nice hotel. The lobby looks nice, but that is all. I had to change rooms because my air conditioning didn’t work, and that was annoying. I’ve experienced other Mercure and this one from Brasilia really let me down.

My stay was very good, but I followed the hotel on the Instagram and see a lot people earn welcome gifts when they arrive at the hotel room. And every hotel that I went, since I become Gold on All, I received the gifts too. But on the Grand Mercure Brasília Eixo Monumental, I never received. It's sound little and unimportant, but when we are far from home and when we are loyalty to a program we didn't want be a simple guest, especially when you go at least once a month on the same place. You would like to have the opportunity, because that place is part of our life. It is an extended part of your home.

Uneven experience

Initially, I was given room 908 which was one of the unrenovated rooms and it had a very bad smell. I assumed all the rooms were like that so I didn't complain. However, as my room overlooked the stadium and an adjacent park where it appeared there was going to be a loud rock concert my last night, I requested a room change to the other side of the hotel. Ribiero at the front desk accommodated my request and gave me a renovated room on the 5th floor which was fine - no bad smell, probably because they aren't using carpeting in these renovated rooms. If I had been given such a room to begin with, my rating would be extremely satisfied.
