It is a pity that besides the people at the reception, nobody speaks English in this wonderful hotel. The hotel has a very fine restaurant, but when even the maître completely ignores you because you don't speak their language, that doesn't leave you with a good feeling. The first night my waiter served me a very well done picana, where I ordered it medium rare. The glas of red wine that I asked for was never served. So I ignored the note at the end asking for a tip. On my second visit, the same waiter did do an effort to understand what I was asking for and gave me a pretty good service... which I rewarded with a tip. I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, so the first morning I gave a bermuda for the 24h laundry service. When I left the hotel, I payed for this service... realizing after I had left and been driving for over 200 km, that my bermuda was never returned to me. My e-mail to the reception about this was never answered, so I called them. I was told to send the e-mail to a different address, which I did. But also that mail was never answered. I did one more phone call, followed by some calls by my Brazilian friend in Portugese. And we are still waiting for an answer. So probably somebody at the laundry service is hopefully happy with my bermuda. And I don't mind paying for a service, but then at least I expect that service to be delivered! I was pretty happy with the hotel, the room and the reception. But my experiences with the restaurant and the laundry service made it a not so good experience over all.

Noisy air conditioning and no elevator at all

Several times I have had to take the stairs. And deal with the air conditioning condenser INSIDE the room - this a unit always placed outside in any decent a/c installation. Can you imagine being alarmed every 5 minutes by a naturally noisy condenser? Thats you’ll get in Mercure Brasilia.

The room is spacious and has everything you need for a short or long stay, the service room is good but could be faster, the reception is amazing, the amenities such as breakfast and pool are excellent. I'm. Staying in this hotel from now on every time that I need to go to Brasília.
