Great choice for Aachen

Nice hotel great location within walking distance from the city centre. Room was good as we it could accommodate a family of 4, this applies for children up to 16 years old. Bath and separate shower in the room. The shower head holder was not stable so the shower would not stay put while showering. Breakfast was OK, had better in other Novotel hotels. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating, no issue to leave bags at reception after check-out, so we could walk into the centre and do some last minute shopping. Overall, a great choice for Aachen.

Perfect for a one night stay. Room and bathroom were rather cramped but were clean. Need more outlets /charging ports. Convient for-pay parking but good location with easy access to major sites. Would stay here again for a short stay.

Good value practical stay in two room types

It was our first visit when world came back to normal post covid and I am pleased to report that hotel rebounced to their standards. I think it was our 4th stay over eight years or so. This time we opted for two rooms instead of use of sofa bed for three nights which was still decent value without benefiting from any discounted rates. One was executive room and the other one was standard room on forth floor. Rooms look exactly the same in terms of size and furnishing. The only difference in executive room are bathrobes which we had to chase at reception (they should have them ready in rooms but I guess it is saving when people don’t realise), five small bottled minibar drinks a day (again you need to pick them from reception fridge - never seen this rule in French Mercures where they leave them in the room). They leave large water bottle in both rooms fridges. There is also large laptop safe in both. Standard room had kettle while executive room had nespresso machine. As a result I was going to my daughter standard room to boil water for tea as I don’t drink coffee from capsules. I hope that description helps you to book right room for your needs. They don’t refill Rituals toiletries bottles which was annoying so we were using our own body lotions, shampoos and shower gels. Again I think this is another way to save money unless people chase which on this occassion we didn’t as we were returning to rooms when housekeeping was gone. Our Accor elite free drink was large glass of wine of good quality. We did use room service on the second evening. You cannot order from the room though, you must order in the bar but food was delivered to the room. It was much more expensive than eating in the town but food was tasty. We used gym on 5th floor (there is no rowing machine though) and benefited from the steam room available. Parking is directly linked to the hotel building but run by the seperate company so you cannot validate the ticket by reception. Overall it was pleasant good value stay and I see us returning yet again. 4 stars instead of five for housekeeping issues.

Perfect family weekend hotel

I will definitely recommend this hotel for a family weekend trip to Aachen. The location is perfect, there is parking that is next to the building (unfortunately the lift didn't work), the room was big enough for four of us. The staff was polite and the breakfast we paid for extra was delicious (kids are free).
