Aged rooms, rather boring deco, heating control in room not working properly, no extra bed cover / duvet; rather loud as a Cousy JC insulation between rooms not optimal; were woken up by vacuum cleaner in the hallway; parking and restaurant were closed (not mentioned while booking ..and partly reason for choosing this hotel)

OK for a short stay

I visited here on a business trip. When I arrived the reception and bar were being redecorated. I asked about breakfast and was told it's 21 euros, I didn't take up the offer so can't comment on the food, however Aachen has more bakeries than you can shake a stick at and locally you can get breakfast for a fraction of that price. The room was clean and tidy, decent size bath and a separate walk in shower. Strangely there was an ironing board but no iron, apparently this is due to local H&S or something. Overall the hotel is OK for a short stay but does need some updating - hadn't changed since I was last here in late 2019 - which judging by the redecoration going on is being addressed. The immediate area is not particularly nice being near the main bus station where some "interesting" characters abound, though of course this is not the fault of the hotel. On the plus side Aachen city centre is a 10-minute walk away and very worth a look, lots of shops and restaurants a few minutes walk away also.

Nice rooms but avoid the breakfast

We are just back from 4 night stay. Nice hotel inside and room was basic but sufficient for our needs. Air con in room was great as was a small fridge in the room. Great places to eat out if you walk into town and head up towards the market square so no complaints there. However, The hotel is not in the best part of town and they were having issues with car break ins in their car park. We also spotted a rat outside. Our biggest issue though was the breakfast. We did not have a breakfast included in our booking but decided to have breakfast the first morning for convenience and signed a slip saying 25 euros which we agreed to pay. The breakfast was terrible with cold stodgy food so we never stayed any other morning opting to go to a cafe down the road. Sadly, when checking out we found our that our 25 euros was actually 25 euros each. Total rip off!!!

I just want to share a wonderful experience I had yesterday at this hotel. I often stay at this wonderful hotel and each time I am delighted. But yesterday even more. I decided to take my dinner at their restaurant and I was really surprised by the quality of the food. The chef made me an unbelievable good steak. Medium cooked as it must be, very good vegetables (brocolli and red onions) with delicious sliced potatoes. Thanks Anas for the food and Rainer for the perfect service with a smile. Also Leonie at the reception who came several times to see if I was enjoying the food made my evening one of the best evening at a Accor hotel this year. Last but not least I want to thank all employees (breakfast is also an enjoyable moment for the food and personel) to make me feel at home in this hotel even when far away from home. They should deserve number one hotel in Aachen for overall quality of rooms, building and certainly employees.
