Good for Racecourse. Avoid food / service at Garden Bar

Very handy for Racecourse event. The rooms are small, bed is comfortable. Shower has great pressure. Later check out of 11am appreciated. Avoid garden bar - as a group of 10 service was very slow, snack food items way overpriced for minimal quantities. Wish we’d gone out instead or got uber eats

Affordable and convenient

Stayed for 5 nights in Nov 2025 and found this to be a affordable option for Auckland that is conveniently located between the airport and the city centre. Greenlane train station is next to the hotel and you can be in the CBD in 15 minutes, there are also major bus routes within walking distance. The beautiful Cornwall park and One Tree Hill are about a 10 minute walk and definitely worth a visit. Has all the amenities of a standard 3 star hotel including bar and restaurant, I did not use the car park but there seemed to plenty of spaces. The only issue I had was that the lift seemed to be working sometimes but not others. I would stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel on 2 seperate nights this last week. The staff, particularly Aimee at Reception and Emily at the Bar were fantastic. Both were a pleasure to deal with. The hotel was fine. (Remember it is an Ibis). Room and Bathrooms nice and clean, the bed and pillows very comfy and the amenities were what you expected. I was travelling with a bunch of mates, and for what we needed this hotel was perfect. Close proximity to the Railway Station was a bonus, as it was only 4 stops into the heart of the city. Much quicker and cheaper than a taxi or uber. If you want a clean hotel at a 3 star rating, then this is value for money. Will I stay here again, absolutely!

The car parking is getting tighter, the overflow to the racecourse is not so good and quite walk away. The breakfast is very good, the staff look after you and go out of their way to help. Some were pre-booking car-parks that is a good idea if you have the status.

Well…what can I say but so far an amazing hotel! Great value and not far from the city. Of particular note a wonderful barmaid called manu absolutely killed it tonight best waitress I’ve had of 2024 and I’ve been to about 10 different countries this year. Thank u so much for ur awesome hospitality she is an asset! Also thanks for sorting out room out from king to twin in a matter of moments :) Highly recommend this property!
