Nice hotel with big comfortable rooms, the breakfast is served on a 360º floor with great view of the city although with just a few options for Europeans.

Booked a river-view hotel room, ended up being a sauna/sweat box because management felt like it!

I have been touring China for 2 weeks now, and I was looking forward to conclude my trip in Shanghai. So, I made sure I booked a supposedly respectable hotel (Novotel) and made sure I booked a superior room too. To my surprise, when we check in, the AC is not working. I informed the reception, and to my HUGE SHOCK, the employees tell me that they decided to turn off the AC to the entire hotel because they believe it's too cold, and they can provide me fans! I didn't book some cheap motel in a cheap area of Shanghai, I booked a 4-star hotel, in the city's centre, which I paid alot for. All for some management team to decide they are too cold, so let's turn off the AC to the entire hotel and give guests fans!

Spacious rooms with amazing city views from the higher floors. We found the beds comfortable and appreciated how clean everything was. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of dishes, though with a stronger Asian focus than Western options—which was fine for us. There are some shops downstairs, including an ALDI, which is super handy. Our only real disappointment was the swimming pool. We chose this hotel in part because of it, but it was closed for chemical treatment during the exact hour we had available to use it. That was our only free window, so we missed out completely. Still, overall a solid stay—just confirm pool availability if that’s a priority.

At first I thought it was strange because the reception was on the 5th floor, but then I got used to it. It's basically a vertical hotel. It has a good indoor pool and a very small gym with little variety. However, the best thing is that there is a laundry room that guests can use for free. In addition, the rooms are a good size and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is served on the 50th floor, which allows you to see the city view, not to mention that it is actually a rotating restaurant (the floor rotates slowly). However, for me the highlight was the service. Since restaurants close early, we had no way to have dinner nearby, and the manager helped us order food, which was very kind of him.
