I Stayed at This hotel 2 years ago , we had a very spaces and clean room , the beds were confy and everything worked but we stayed in other hotels in South Africa were this was the case . What makes this place special is its people !! There is little they are not able to do for you and we always had the feeling they were happy to help , for such a big place that is special indeed ! So we were visiting S.A. this year again it was natural for us to book the Mercure again, but before we could leave Australia , Corona Virus happed and just with our first stay the people at Nelspruit Mercure were very helpfulin all we requested . A Great HOTEL with wonderful PEOPLE

The staff was very understanding and helpful for my wife and I situation. I am in the USA and she is in South Africa. We are going through the visa process. Long story short I helped my wife out by paying for her room over the phone. It takes three to four days for the money to be sent to my wife. The trip was an emergency situation. The hotel staff help us out very much and I appreciate it completely. In the future I plan on staying at this hotel in south Africa. Even though my wife emergency situation, she told me how much she enjoyed staying at the hotel.

Air conditioners in the lounge and bedroom not working properly. Only ceiling fan in second room and this not working properly. Carpets look dilapidated with cigarette burn marks. 4 Cups but only 2 glasses available, no dish washing consumables (soap and drying cloths) available in the room. Bedding duvet was lumpy as if washed too often.

Fine, upon arrival at the airport, Mercure Hotel was meant to have arranged transport to pick me up but I had to call them & only to find out that they forgot, so I had to wait at the airport but Ashley Mthembu apologized and upgraded me to a family suite & it wasn't really beneficial to me since I was staying in alone anyway but I appreciate the effort anyways. 2. I went to have breakfast & I was told I have to pay for breakfast because the package didn't include breaks down whereas my company had a tab for breakfast for me, this happened 3 times in a row & I didn't feel comfortable about that! Eventually, they figured out that my company had a separate tab for breakfast. 3. The iron & the ironing board need to be changed, they're old & the worse thing the iron was dirty & it burned my work shirt when I was ironing. I think it would be a good idea to invest in better & clean irons. 4. I was grateful to have my check out time extended on the day I was leaving because my flight was in the evening, the lady at the reception told me I can check out at 2 pm instead of 11 am & I hanged out around the reception until it was time to go fetch my flight. That was very nice of the Mercure Hotel to allow.
