We've previously stayed at other Sofitel locations, including Beverly Hills, which was wonderful. The location was great and the staff at the front desk were very pleasant upon check-in and check-out. However, this location overall is poorly run and, aside from the lobby, is in poor condition. There was visible food and other filth on the hallway floors which appeared to not be vacuumed during our four day stay. Room service trays left in the hallway for +24 hours remained uncollected by the staff. Our room was also visibly dirty, had stained window drapes, torn bedding, and mold growing in the shower. Breakfast each morning was chaotic, which doesn't make sense as there was plenty of staff, empty tables, and breakfast is effectively buffet style. On the last day we were yelled at by a very rude employee for filling our own coffee cups as the complementary coffee in the lobby was empty for a second day. Additionally, the valet took about 45 minutes to one hour to retrieve our car each day despite giving them a 30 minute window. On our last night, the valet was so backed up we ultimately parked our car at a garage down the street. We booked this through American Express as part of The Hotel Collection and it certainly did not live up to that standard. The inconsistency among Sofitel locations is startling and disappointing.
