Pleasant large room with nice view on the natural green surroundings. Perfect XXXL choice cum comprehensive breakfast. Good, albeit quite young staff adding to the general good impression of our 2 days stay.

Great wee University Town - very vibrant and alive -as it is being developed. Hotel looks fine. Clean and open. Spacious room. €100 taxi from airport- so make sure you get the train. Reception not great - ‘City Tax’ was barked in m direction - like I should know wtf the guy was talking about. I painfully got the details and paid. Bar expensive but ok. Good was very bad - fatty grizzly Belgian Stew with undercooked potatoes heated in Microwave- was returned but I still had to pay €8 for my two mouthfuls. Heard another guest say similar the following day. Breakfast was very good. Usual buffet style - good coffee, good range of fruit, hot food, cereal etc. Ok overnight but eat out

This place hs not changed much since my review in 2017. I like the idea of squeeze-it yourself orange juice at breakfast. At 15h00 I asked for a whiskey at the bar, and was told whiskey cold not be served until 16h00. This was not a language misunderstanding. I speak and understand the French language. What was this about? Heard trash collection trucks outside before 0600.

One word for our stay...AWFUL! Don't even know where to start...it was just awful! This hotel is recommended if you are coming to see the Tintin Museum, as it is a 10 minute walk from the hotel to the museum. However, DON'T BOTHER! The staff are lazy and unprofessional. The hotel is dirty and falling to pieces. There is hardly any staff and when there is staff they never answer the phone, they never deal with any problems. The hotel was run down, the drinks machine was broken the whole few days we stayed. I fixed it once after complaining so many times about getting it sorted.We ate once in the restaurant in the evening, that wasn't up too much, which was why we ate out every night. The hotel room was exceptionally smaller than we thought, despite having a twin room. We had a balcony which was a total hazard and I fell over the step and knocked my foot really badly. Nobody ever picked up the phone and reception was mainly unmanned.The lift kept breaking down and so we had to use the stairs. It spoilt our visit to the museum. Save your money and stay a little further away. The Herge museum need to review why this hotel is recommended. They could do so much more with the decor and turning it into the main herge hotel to stay in, bu, instead there is a wasted opportunity here. Such a shame! Awful!

Bad Room worse staff

Very small and ugly room. Door to the toilett had a huge gap and did not close properly. Staff did not speak english at all only french. Asked for spare blanket and got one without any cover. Just not acceptable.

May I suggest to try out our new superior rooms; they are spacious, design and cosy decoration with separate bath room and separate toilet.
