Still our home from home in Nice... again

After 11 stays in the last 10 years, we know this hotel well. This year we got an upgrade to a Privilege room... we had a lovely spacious room on the 4th floor, complete with opening window in the bathroom - unusual for this hotel. As always our room was clean and comfortable - this hotel is in an old art deco design building, so air-conditioning isn't always built in, but does the job. Don't be put off by the odd chip in the paintwork! Everything is as described on the Accor website - the mini fridge is invaluable to keep drinks etc cool. We don't have the breakfast in the hotel, since my choice of food is restricted due to my allergies - not a problem when you can make coffee etc in your room and there is a supermarket and health food shop so close to the hotel. We love the location of this hotel - easy to reach the beach, restaurants, shops and laundrette. Easy access to the tram from the airport (stop is Jean Medicin about 5 minutes walk) and about 10 minutes walk from Nice Ville train station. Since last year the rooftop terrace/bar has been refurbished with lovely comfortable chairs/sofas to relax on. The staff are so friendly and helpful, including housekeeping - the minor issue of the sink draining really slowly was dealt with promptly when I left a note in the bathroom. We are sure we will be back next year!

My son and I stayed at this hotel on a long weekend break, to take in an Olympic Games football match at the Stade de Nice. The hotel is in a quiet location but still close to shops, a whole host of restaurants and the famous Promenade des Anglais. Without exception the staff at the hotel were helpful, friendly, patient, professional and just so nice.Our room was very nice and the air conditioning was a blessing, given the hot weather. There was a fridge, safe and kettle (with coffee, sugar etc) supplied and more than enough hanging space in the wardrobe (which contained more than enough hangers for us). The buffet breakfast provided more than enough choice for a good first meal of the day and my son, who isn’t normally much of a breakfast person, tucked in with abandon and like me, enjoyed what was on our plates. The rooftop solarium got some use and is an excellent place to flop out on a sun bed or chair and top up vitamin D levels. Neither of us could find a fault with the hotel, it’s facilities or the staff. We were provided with a fabulous base to explore Nice and beyond, thanks to the fabulous rail service. We intend to return to the Cote D’Azur and given our experience, will have no hesitation in booking this gem of a hotel, again. On a closing note the Intermarche Express convenience shop, next door to the hotel is well stocked and the prices are ridiculously reasonable.

Good base from which to explore Nice and surrounding countryside.

Well located offering easy access to the bustling downtown area, which has lots of boutiques, restaurants, bars and diverse tourist attractions. Friendly, helpful staff, and the rooms are clean, air conditioned, and free hi-speed wifi. Decor is tired, and would benefit from being freshened up. Reasonable breakfast, but expensive against nearby cafes.

Definitely not recommended, wil as regular traveller to nice will not stay in this hotel again. Rooms are very shabby with old carpets and chipped paint on all woodwork, although clean and compact. For a superior 4 star room we were disappointed, but we were comfortable in a smaller slightly newer room on 6th floor. The staff were very accomodating on our room change. Great location for old town, Massena Square, bars and shopping. Did not try breakfast. Super cafe round the corner. Also has Pop u roof top bar.
