Overall a good hotel. Convenient location. Room was nice. Bed comfortable. Shower does not have a hand held shower option which is a disadvantage for cleanliness. Received poor directions from desk clerk. Wasted more than a half hour following the directions I was given and never found the place. Poor list of food options.. Should have a map with food options on to make them easy to find. Found a great place right around the corner that was not on their list.

Staff was helpful and friendly. Room was shabby and small. Mildew in the shower. Arms of the only chair were rubbed bare. No sheet between the bed and the comforter, we asked for a blanket and it had stains on it. Light switch in the room worked intermittently.You would think that after being closed since the pandemic started the hotel would have had the time to remedy things like this.

I spoke with the Duty manger at my check out. I politely expressed my great displeasure at my stay. This is a summary. There was no drinking water in the room when I arrived. I called to ask for some water to be brought and was told to come down and get it myself. I arrived at the concierge desk which was empty of hotel staff and also no other guests were present. One person was at a desk who simply pointed at an open door then told me that someone there will help me. I was given one bottle! The staff seemed surprised that I would need four bottles for t my family of four My wife ran the bath water. The water in the first several seconds was yellow in color. Thankfully, the water cleared up and stayed clear. I indicated in my reservation that 4 people are staying in the room. Furthermore, I booked the 1 bedroom suite with a sofa bed. I don't think I should need to ask for sheets and covers for the sofa bed. The two air conditioning units in the suite were malfunctioning. The Maintenance staff came back twice to fix the same problem. After the second visit, they simply disabled something in the system. I would be unable to cool the room - which wasn't too bad considering it was cold anyways. Before I arrived, the hotel sent me emails trying to entice me to upgrade my room. They also sent me several promotion messages. However I wasn't informed until checking in that every amenity in the hotel was closed. No gym, no food, no room service. They could not even bring hot water to my room.

From beginning to the end a very disappointing Hotelstay. I write an e mail to prepare the 2nd bed in my suite and as we arrived it wasn’t in the room yet. No upgrade, even not the originally booked room (as Diamond member!), and all of this with an 30% occupancy. No sorry, no restaurant… This hotel, which I often booked before Covid, is an real Service Desaster and of course it has to be renovated.

The stay was good. I knew Sofitel was closed during Covid and I got the impression that it was under renovation but that was not the case when I arrived. So it feels a little misleading there but then it was clean and because I didn't see a lot of people I generally feel very safe and everyone working there had their masks on. The door man is especially attentive. Location is great and I may stay there again but that's because there are many options around.

Problems checking in- reservation could not be found Had to wait 30-45 minutes for a room, but the manager was very courteous For the delay, they upgraded us to a better suite Hotel stay after that point went smoothly

When I made the reservation, I was never told that the reopening of the hotel was in stages and a number of key services were not available. When I arrived with my wife, there was no valet car park service. Both the bar and restaurant were not open, and I was handed a list of places to have breakfast or dinner in the area. I have been a strong supporter of the sofitel brand but was very disappointed at this stay.

I am a fan of Sofitel and stay at the Washington DC hotel whenever I am there. Was looking forward to staying at the NYC property. Front desk personnel were helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and housekeeping was prompt and thorough. It was an inconvenience for the restaurant not to be open, but I understand continuing difficulties with COVID.

Was lovely, felt like a queen staying there! Comfy bed, beautiful room, spacious bathroom. Doormen/concierge was awesome, helpful. I gave it a 9 only because things were still closed in the hotel…some coffee in the lobby would be a nice addition. It was an easy walk to get coffee, but would be nice to have onsite.

Very good. Unfortunately, the restaurant is not yet open, so that was a challenge. There was also no way to get coffee in the morning, except by going out. But the service was otherwise very good and attentive.

Having stayed at the Sofitel New York many times over the years the first thing to make clear is that location-wise it can't be beat. Having stayed there the week it re-opened I also appreciate that the hotel is a bit rusty but there's a few things that didn't impress me too much; 1. Despite being closed for a long period of time I would have expected some element of refurbishment or at the very least, deep clean and interrogation of all rooms to have take place. Whilst our room was "ok", the sofa had seen better days, the smoke detector was hanging off the wall and a couple of lights were out. It just seemed like things had been mothballed. 2. I get that there's a pandemic etc. but it's not outside the remit of man to open the Gaby's entrance on 46th Street. This is a really handy way to enter and exit without an additional block to walk - after all, it wasn't as if the front entrance was that heavily policed having walked out several times with no one in sight. I think focusing more on the needs of guests is required here rather than pseudo-covid controls that many places implement but add little to no protection. 3. When I pay for a late check out in advance as a "guaranteed option" I don't expect to have to remind reception on check in that I have it. When I'm told that check out is 11 and I say, oh no I've purchased late check out to 5pm, why is that needed? Why doesn't the hotel system know what's on my email confirmation? Annoying. Lastly whilst it isn't totally the hotel's fault, I really wasn't impressed with the lack of contact from Accor prior to the trip. Finding out that a hotel you've booked is closed with no clarified reopening date is stressful enough but at the very least Accor customer services could reply to 3 emails on the subject - even if it's to say "Sorry we don't know". Poor.

Well located establishment and well known, close to Times Square, Central Park and 5th Avenue ! If we were part of the lucky ones to travel to the US, post covid-19 travel restrictions, one did not expect that Sofitel would have reopened without its full services on as no breakfast/restaurant/bar or fitness were operating. Staff did their best to smoothen things up (upgrade made to one of suites, though already using Suite Nights Upgrades - ALL; financial compensation proposed to cover breakfast costs that were originally part of the tariff chosen, amenities provided when requested, ...) and we are grateful to them.

Staff was great. Room was comfortable but a little smaller than expected. Lighting was dim an counterintuitive, and one of the two swinging bathroom doors wouldn't stay open.

The hotel was lovely with nice atmosphere and really nice rooms. However, it had only been open for one week since the pandemic and there were lots of things not available: the fitness room, room service. The website said there was a fitness room. We also had a hard time getting someone to bring a coffee maker to the room. We finally got one but it was like pulling teeth. AND THEN there was an additional fee: Urban Fee!!! What was that for??? We got nothing extra from this hotel than any other hotel - we even go less and had an additional fee!

Great to be back at Sofitel NYC, our go-to hotel since 2015 when we want to stay midtown for broadway shows. I booked a Suite experience back in late summer (before you were actually open!) and appreciate the really good deal we got on "L'Apartement" on the 28th floor. The real drawback was the lack of in-hotel food options, when so many other midtown hotels now have their restaurants open as well. Hope you get fully back to normal soon!

I assumed you would have opened long ago, but you finally opened just 5 days before my arrival. Nevertheless, the suite was great and the location is ideal. No food service, which was a problem every breakfast. At least coffee would have been nice!
