Good check in experience. Centrally located. Clean common areas. Spacious clean room. Hotel is a bit dated and sleepy. Furniture in rooms is chipped/dented and otherwise damaged (cosmetic fixes - but shows a lack of attention). Room lacked a Nespresso or other coffee machine (something one would be accustomed to). Breakfast was very well done and the service was excellent. Overall poor Accor member experience. No welcome gift. 1 drink voucher (I'm used to 1 per day per person). If I hadn't of received a suite upgrade (to a dated sleepy room that lacked a coffee machine) or the breakfast I would have wondered what the point of being an Accor member was. Overall, hotel is fine. But definitely the worst of the Sofitel hotels I have stayed in (Faubourg, Paris Opera, Baltimore Tour Eiffel).

It was difficult confirming my reservation over the phone the night before I checked into the hotel. It took four phone calls with multiple call disconnects while being transferred. I was very pleased to see that the room was clean. However, it did not contain complimentary water and macaroons, as experienced by my coworkers when they checked into the hotel on Wednesday. Their room rates were also less expensive and on higher floors. I suggested that they stay at the hotel based upon its location and my coworker's comments based upon her stay last December. I cancelled my December reservation, as I caught the flu and was unable to travel. As she was very pleased with the hotel and location, I decided to stay there for my visit this month. Aside from the room rate variance and lack of complimentary water, etc., my visit went well and I will stay at the hotel again for business and personal visits. I believe that my coworkers' rooms were less expensive, as NYU's graduation concluded on Wednesday....

Very disappointed room was not ready upon arrival!

We also had the breakfast package and clearly there was much confusion on the hotel part as I was charged fees and had to complain to management before departure.

Disappointing holiday weekend stay at the Sofitel New York. On the Plus Side: Fantastic Location, near Times Square & Theater District but just far enough away, a block or so, away from the maddening crowd. The room had great soundproofing compared to most hotel rooms, especially in NY. However, I paid a premium rate for a city view, and there was not much of a view. When I complained, the front desk stated I was in Midtown and should not expect a view. False Advertising? I also prepaid breakfast but you receive a $30 credit for breakfast, not a buffet. There are much better options for breakfast elsewhere. My food was cold. Not the French Experience that was advertised. The front desk was not very helpful. I won't stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights in May. The bed was comfy, clean room and lovely lobby. The rooms and bathrooms are a bit outdated. There was 1 sink and no fridge (brought to room later) nor coffee maker in room but complimentary coffee in restaurant until 10:00. There are tons of reatuarants nearby as well as shopping etc.
