People make places! Great service Fairmond Rio

Fairmond Rio is absolute one of our favorite 5 star hotel in big citys and we stayed here for 5 nights. But I strongly recommend to book a room with access to the Fairmond gold lounge. Here you check in on a separate floor where you have breakfast without chaos and you have happy hour from 18.00-20.00 with a nice meal and great wine and drinks. You also have access to sun chairs by the pool exclusive for the Fairmond gold (however it is never a problem to get s sunbed). We booked a room facing the Copacabana and got upgraded to a suite with beautyful views over the Copacabana. So what differentiate Fairmond Rio from many other bigger 5 star hotels - they manage to make a personal touch and they deliver 5 star service! In the end of the day people make places. All staff members in the gold lounge is really great from the men in black following you to the room to the waiters (our favorite guy was Couto) in the launge and the staff on the 4 floor reception. However I will mention that our daughter was here 2 months before us and she was not in the gold lounge and she loved the hotel as well. The only thing that was 3 star at best at Fairmond Rio was their Concierge service. We tried to book 3 tours and there were 5 days in responstime and e-mails forth and back because they did not answer our simple questions in the first e-mail and one of the 3 tours was not the tour we requested but is was corrected when we arrived. Also our transfers were not booked at the correct times and e-mails forth and back to get correct pick up time from Búzios. We were picked up at the time we wanted just saying that. Naomi F. and Wendy did a great job and sorted it all out when we arrived - so one recommendation is to double check all you receive from the Concierge service and I do not think you need to book many of the tours in advance. You can do it on site except from the transfers.

Staying at Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Copacabana was a truly memorable experience — and the overall hotel service, beach club and specially the breakfast buffet was one of the highlights of our visit. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The spread was impressive: fresh tropical fruits, a variety of breads and pastries, cold cuts and cheeses, delicious hot dishes (Tapioca 😋), fresh juices, Mimosas and coffee — everything you could want for a luxurious start to the day.  What really made the difference, however, was the service. We want to extend our deepest thanks to Edna and Guarezma. Their kindness, attentiveness, and personal care turned a simple breakfast into a warm, welcoming moment that we looked forward to each morning. Looking forward to come back to this paradise really soon ‼️ Muito obrigado 🙏

Fantastic experience at Fairmont Rio! Rooms gorgeous, service amazing and beautiful views. Food at Marine restaurant very good (both breakfast and dinner) and Murilo provided us with amazing service (truly above and beyond. Pool has incredible views of Copacabana and provides a nice sanctuary from city.

We really enjoyed our breakfast, with the view and the vibe outside. Murilo made us feel so welcome, and took care of us. He recommended a local breakfast dish - a pancake made with tapioca. We also loved Gustavo at the pool bar. He was very kind and accommodating.
