This hotel lies. Do not use. They have charged me for my room twice. They have taken the money from my account twice and they refuse to admit it even though I have evidence of two payments being taken out my account. Avoid this hotel at all costs. It may be nice location but is it worth being charged double for? No! Very unhelpful staff. Very poor service. Stealing money for their own gain and then lying about it.

We fully understand your concern and sincerely regret the frustration caused by this situation. As previously explained on several occasions, the first amount taken was a pre-authorization, not an additional payment. This procedure is standard in hotels to secure funds at check-in and is automatically released after check-out once the final payment is confirmed. We have provided you the official payment receipt showing this deduction and have encouraged you to forward this documentation to your bank to help clarify the transaction. Unfortunately, we do not have control over the delay in releasing the pre-authorized amount, which depends entirely on your bank’s internal processing time. This can sometimes take up to 7 working days. While we’ve made every effort to explain this and assist you as clearly and promptly as possible, we regret that our explanations have not been accepted. We remain at your disposal should the situation persist beyond the standard processing delay and will gladly continue to assist you if needed. My husband and I have been staying at the Mercure Opéra Spa here in Paris since April 19th. This is our fifth night. During all these days, we’ve been bringing selected wine bottles to our hotel room — wines we enjoyed throughout the trip. We brought them up because we’re wine label collectors and also run an Instagram account called Wine Magicians. These bottles were being kept in the room — please note: they were empty, some even with the corks still on, and stored inside the closet, above the minibar. They were not on the floor. They were not in the trash. Each of these bottles was carefully chosen and purchased during our stay in Paris. We tasted each one with the intention of photographing the labels and removing them tonight, before continuing our trip to Italy tomorrow morning (to Franciacorta, in fact, precisely because of the wine). So imagine our shock when we arrived in our room tonight to find all of our bottles gone. The housekeeper simply threw them away. All of them! These were not trash. They were not in a garbage bin or lying around. They were clearly stored carefully. My husband is truly heartbroken. He is a wine lover, and he put thought and care into choosing each bottle. This was supposed to be a beautiful memory for us — the labels were to be souvenirs of our week in Paris. This loss is irreparable. Even if we wanted to try and replace them, today is our last day in Paris. We have no way of finding, buying, and drinking those six wines all over again. Worse still, we hadn’t even photographed the labels yet — we had planned to do it tonight, just before removing them. Someone entered our room to clean and discarded what was clearly not garbage. I honestly don’t even know what to ask the hotel for in terms of compensation, because this goes beyond money. The frustration is enormous, and the emotional loss for us is very real — someone threw away the memories of our week in Paris. My husband is EXTREMELY UPSET, and I told him we would speak to the manager today, but we have a full day of tours scheduled and don’t know what time we’ll be able to talk to the hotel. Tomorrow, we leave for Gare de Lyon at 6:30 a.m. What happened is unacceptable. We’ve lost a part of our story, and the labels tha we wanna tô keep to remember our trip to Paris.

We completely understand the sentimental and personal value these wine bottles held for you. Carefully chosen throughout your stay and meant to be preserved as meaningful keepsakes. We are truly sorry that one of our housekeeping staff mistakenly discarded them. Please be assured that this was in no way intentional and does not reflect the level of care and respect we strive to provide for our guests. We understand how upsetting this must be, especially given your passion for wine and your dedication to collecting labels as part of your journey. For this reason, as soon as you brought this matter to our attention, our entire team immediately mobilized to correct the error. We were able to successfully retrieve four out of the six bottles, and we have purchased the two missing ones. It was important to us to do everything possible to make up for this mistake. We have since had the opportunity to speak with you about the situation, and we are truly pleased to know that you were satisfied with our responsiveness and the solution we provided. We sincerely hope you enjoyed your time in Paris, and that the rest of your journey through Italy is going wonderfully — especially your visit to Franciacorta, which we’re sure will be filled with memorable wine discoveries. It was my second stay at this hotel and it ws just as comfortable, friednly and pleasant.The only two concerns are 1) that the bathtub had no handles for holding on when showering and the floor of the bath tub is very smoothl and 2) the shower gel etc are mounted high for shower so a guest using the bath wil have to stand up regularly to get the shwoer gel and with the bath floor being very smooth and no grab bars- this is a safety concern.

Good option near Opera Garnier

Good location, near Opera Garnier and main department stores (Printemps, Galeries…). Staff is nice, check in is quick and efficient. Rooms are small but very well equipped. Each and every square inch is optimised. The entire property is very well kept, rooms and lobby are very clean.

Small beds

Smallest room and beds EVER. I once stayed in an Ibis on my own in Amsterdam and had a small room, but this twin room was smaller. 4 nights and I fell out of bed twice. The hotel as a whole was great, just the room and bed size. Breakfast was nice. Close to Metro stations and tourist buses.
