I love this hotel and have returned quite a number of times. Great location just far enough out of the hussle of downtown, but still easy walking distance. The staff are exceptional. Derek in the Club Lounge always provides outstanding service. On that point, the Club Lounge is worth paying for if you have the opportunity - it is probably the best lounge of its type I have found in Australian hotels. As an Accor Diamond loyalty member I am always impressed by the great welcome amenities as these are often overlooked in other Accor properties, but at Sofitel on Collins Diamond status does mean something and I am made to feel special. I almost always get a good room upgrade too in recognition of my Diamond tier. Thank you.

This is not a nice hotel, in spite of how it may look online or in pictures. Unless you want a 1970s ‘nostalgic experience’ it is very dated and frankly a bit depressing. The rooms are not soundproof and I almost always felt that there were people in the room with me (even though I traveled alone). The noise of vacuuming is heard all day be it 6am or 10pm, but my room felt like it had not been properly vacuumed in years. Everything that is 5 star service is missing, at least for the ordinary person that is not a points or club member of the useless Accor establishment (cue American used car salesmen and flight attendants). And the ‘Bonjour’ (a nod to Accor’s French roots) is really to die for. The two stars are for the staff though, who did everything they could to make my stay enjoyable especially when they realized I was quite unhappy here. But ultimately they could not make up for this hotel, which initially seemed a good deal but is grotesquely overpriced for what is best a 3 star roadside motel standard. I wish them better luck elsewhere.

This is my fourth time at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins and the hotel never disappoints. The rooms are large and spacious, breakfast is amazing, and the staff members are incredibly friendly. The location is perfect.

A wonderful stay. Room was huge and attention to detail was exceptional. We have diamond Accor which gave us lounge access. Breakfast is amazing, food options plentiful and of high quality. Happy hours and high tea in the afternoon also great when having a wee break from the tennis. I highly recommend a stay here. Great location, easy walk to the grounds and centrally located for dining options

we had an outstanding stay, starting with email communication before we arrived, through to warm greeting from Naman and an upgrade to a suite, along with excellent lounge excess including zero alcohol option which for us was wonderful.thanks to GM Matt for meeting us when we arrived and for the wonderful team in lounge , maria, angie erin, alou, tahleah,priti, lieulla to name a few. standard restaurant great for breaky also. loved the location , felt so welcome me would gladly stay again .
