As the reviews state, cleanliness is still an issue here. There were hairs in sink/bath, bits in the bottom of the bin, dust on sink/clock and rusting rails in the bathroom. What is stopping Novotel fixing this after all the poor reviews going on for some months? It’s a shame as the bed was comfortable and towels fluffy, but when you feel it’s not been cleaned properly, it makes the whole experience unpleasant.

Tired hotel housekeeping need addressing

Upon arriving at the hotel we were advised due to staff shortages that our room was not ready and would not be ready until 17.30 approximately, not what we expected after a long day travelling. On entering room, we found the safe not working, open sour milk in the fridge and the sink blocked, this required a maintenance man. The sink was in blocked but none of the other issues were commented on. In summary our room was passable but very tired and not the cleanest we have stopped in . Old bath with shower attachment.

very unsatisfactory booking in as room not ready at2pm check in time and still wasn't half an hour later. i booked 2 rooms by phone and twice asked for confirmation by email which never came. our room carpet was dirty as was the cover of our duvet.

Check in was slow and only one room was ready of two. We then had to wait over four hours for our second room to be ready when we had small children who wanted to go to bed. Our rooms were not side by side or across the hall, but with another guest room in between. The rooms and the hotel in general is very dated and urgently needs a refurb. I've stayed in other hotels which are proper 4 star, how this hotel is is beyond me, it is letting the Accor brand down. The flooring around the pools and leading into the pools is very slippery, people were slipping over as there were no mats to prevent slipping. There were no towels for guests to use and others were waiting 20 minutes plus for staff to bring towels which is just not good enough. When we went into breakfast the next morning we noticed tables in the bar that had not been cleaned which is not a good look. Breakfast was busy but the coffee machine kept running out of coffee and another machine is desperately needed to reduce wait times. Then to cap it off, checkout was slow again and then i was over-charged as well which the front office member was able to resolve once i brought it to her attention.
