Novotel Rotorua Lakeside 4.5 stars

Breakfast buffet was an outstanding start to the day and staff were just amazing, they were polite, helpful and always willing to help.

From check-in to check-out, we were very well treated by staff who are caring, approachable and friendly. The restaurant staff in particular are excellent, and the two morning chefs make going to the Novotel such a pleasure. and provide excellent food.

Great location. The housekeeping department do their best to keep the rooms clean and tidy, though it was obvious that property has been getting a bit tired. The minibar, coffee and tea facilities were perfect. Thanks for that! However, the real issue was the restaurant. The breakfast choice was surprisingly limited (add there cold bacon for two mornings in a row and even danish pastry seemed to be flat and well past its expiry date). The evening was buffet which offered the same pile of bacon, sausages and some poor choices of salads, and it all costed 65$ per person, drinks not included. There are quite good restaurants around where one may order a good size quality steak that would cost less than that. Why even bother to visit that restaurant for?

All night there was "bar music" - Windows didn't silence anything :)

No cot in room as requested tried to phone to get one also no milk in room for cup of tea had to phone to request extra towels as only 2 for 4 people. Wait times extremely long which is as frustrating with small children.
