Had dinner with friends by the pool and then enjoyed an overnight stay. Always a pleasure to stay at the Mercure. Because we are regular customers, we are treated in a personal and friendly manner by the staff.

I arrived , checked in & came down to the restaurant to book a table. Well that’s when the whole day got worse. Your female employee was rude ( elder lady on shift) After advising me all tables were reserved & nothing available for the night. I went to my room. I had 2 beers otherwise I would have gone elsewhere for dinner. I ordered room service. When I got a text advising my order was ready at the bar. - again the service was pathetic. No order & they hadn’t even started to prepare. I eventually received my meal at 8:10 pm. I had been awake from 3:00 am travelling from Cairns. The whole time I waited there were 2 unoccupied tables !!! The following morning I went to check out at 6:00 am only for the front reception not to be manned. I rang the bell twice ( within 8 minutes )-still no one attending. I put my room key in the quick check out box & left. Hang on it gets better At 11:15 while I I was waiting at the airport I received a call from your office requesting I make my way back to fix up the account for 2 beers I had. I have been there 5 previous times and had other people from my company over 15 years. & never has anyone been asked to pay for drinks separately. I have advise our travel agent not to book me into your establishment again. I had a vac experience last visit when the Sydney Roosters were there. - your staff made sure they were treated well & everyday else like second class citizens & 2 trips previously my room had no hot water. That’s enough of a rant But you guys have lost the plot & your older staff have an attitude.

Just an over night stay so all we needed was a bed & shower. Small room but had everything necessary
