I understand there has been a lot of rain, I’m a local. However the room we were placed in initially was uninhabitable with the smell and mould in photo frames etc. this room should not have been rented out, it smelt disgusting. We asked for another room and moved upstairs to a slightly better room, however the smell was still overwhelming. We only stayed one night of our two night stay, leaving early after the first night. Could not stand the smell of mould it’s a health hazard. I would be mortified if you rented these rooms out to an interstate visitor looking for a tropical get away, they would be so disappointed.

Great location, disappointing stay

Our stay at the hotel was disappointing due to a lack of maintenance and poor communication. We specifically booked a three-bedroom apartment for its advertised large bathtub, but upon arrival, we discovered the advertised bathtub was removed. After raising our concerns, we were told that we were upgraded to the penthouse. This was not communicated at check in. While that would seem amazing, we decided to not worry about the bathtub but then we continued to encounter several issues, including a dead dishwasher, a non-functional air conditioner, broken lights in multiple areas, a leaking shower, a broken bed frame, and an ant infestation throughout the apartment including beds. The list goes on, but I think I've mentioned enough already. While the hotel did offer us another room, the thought of repacking was unappealing and I wasn't guaranteed a large bathtub or working dishwasher. We booked a smoke free room, but people smoked all around us. Additionally, the buffet breakfast left much to be desired with limited options and lackluster quality. I was also told upon booking that housekeeping would come once in the entire week we booked. Noone came. And if you have a large vehicle that's over 2.1m tall, it won't fit in the underground carparking area. Which is fine, we were told that there was outdoor parking. However, they failed to mention that the outdoor carpark is the IGA car park which is always FULL due to all the workers parking their cars there when they catch the Ferry to the mainland. After looking forward to this getaway for nearly two years, the experience fell far short of our expectations, and we left feeling let down.
