We were disappointed with that room, we truly expected a great view and we Instead felt hemd in by the backend of a couple of boats. Looking at nothing..The courtyard between us and the boats was terrible. It look like someone had done some weeding and just left a pile of what they pulled out of the garden in the courtyard area. It just hit long and kept weedy grass in it..Plus you can tell someone had been in our room had a coffee before we got there

Good base to see the island but could do with an update

Whilst we were accomodating to the fact that we were able to book a 2bed apartment on a discounted rate, we were a bit disappointed with the room. If we had paid full price, we would have been complaining. The rooms are clean and simple but are in need of an update. The TV wouldn't connect to the in room movies and the 2nd bedroom had a portable aircon which meant part of the window was removed and open, so if we were to have used that room the guests would have been hot anyway as the air would go straight out the hole. Overall our stay was nice, but for the price i would have expected some more luxury touches, better technology and linens.

Great Location but need more staff

Our room was nice but there were a number of let downs. Firstly we could not check into our room for over an hour past check in time and this was not relayed to us. We were tired and all we received was one free house drink. Each clean our towels were taken resulting in me countless times needing to wait at reception for things like a bath towel as limited staff. The last clean did even have the bed made. We paid for the Marina view but a large boat took up most of our view on ground floor. After a [paying over $30 per head for breakfast in an upgraded rate it was dissapointing that the menu only had 5/6 options to choose from and coffee and tea was not included which is ridiculous. There are much better options nearby We arrived for the happy hour time only to see the bar closed. The pool is nice and the bar staff were nice but room service, cleaning and menu/ restaurant is lacking at the price we paid per night. I would consider looking at other options next time.

New manager has his work cut out for him

Opened the closet to find someone else's bottle of booze sitting on the shelf. Blankets all crumpled up on the shelf. Clearly, housekeeping hadn't even bothered to open the closet. Then found someone's hair clip just under the bed. Cockroaches in the bathroom on day one. Housekeeping was abysmal throughout. Did not replace anything, did not wipe down any counters, did not vacuum. Made the bed and emptied the trash and that was it. Sub par for Peppers. Check-in was efficient but robotic and lacked any friendliness, warmth or welcome. No offer to assist with luggage and did not mention there were stairs involved which would have been nice to know given that I was managing a knee and foot injury. I did speak to the new manager and I believe he is going to be a great addition and much needed infusion of fresh air. Staff standards are poor. Resort could use some touch-ups.

Beautiful pool, well maintained garden, good location

Friendly reception staff. Amazing swimming pool, and beautiful garden. Good location. We appreciated the welcome gifts: bottle of wine and chocolats. We also appreciated the offer to upgrade to a bigger apartment. Apartment needed some TLC though. Matrasses of beds not so good, one shower door need a better hinge, cleanliness of apartment can be improved - crumbs, hair and sand in bedrooms. Internet was slow. We had issues with the movies on demand. Request twice to repair. Was fixed late second day. Window coverings bedroom dont block out light. Difficult for me to sleep. Lighting in apartment is like a hospital. We moved a bedside lamp to the living room for some cosy lighting. Bar ran out of of sugar free drinks. That was a first. We enjoyed the breakfast dishes and they were of good quality. And excellent portions. Disappointed that restaurant only open for dinner at weekends. I suggest better inspection of apartments (probably time share) to maintain a certain standard. We would return but I would ask in advance if curtains/windows have appropriate covering and lighting. It was enjoyable but could be better if apartment had higher standard. But since we were upgraded there is no reason to complain about this.

Disappointing from start to finish. We originally paid a good rate for our room, given we travelled over Easter and therefore incurred a premium as all travellers do at this stage. Upon arrival we were offered a room overlooking the carpark. We choose to pay for an upgrade, but the room was still disappointing...the minibar was empty, there was no room service, our AC unit leaked constantly, you have to clean dishes in the bathroom, and the wifi is dismal. Furthermore the restaurant wasn't open in the evening, and we were informed at breakfast that coffee and tea wasn't included in the breakfast package that we paid for. We only ate at the hotel once, as the food was bad, the staff we rude, and we were surrounded by other diners who were also disgruntled and complaining. Its an awful experience, and one I wished I'd never paid for, having now read earlier reviews from other unwitting holiday goers. Customer service at Peppers Magnetic Island is almost no existant, and borderline rude. We called conceriege to ask for a taxi to head to another restaurant, given their own restaurant was closed. Just to be given a taxi number and told to call one ourselves....nice. In 6 days our room was cleaned once, and the bathroom supplies replaced twice. Eventhough our booking clearly stated daily. We asked for cleaning at a later time on the 2nd from last day, to which the cleaner remarked "aren't you leaving tomorrow?" Insinuating, what's the point?! On our last morning we had to call for new soap and shampoo, along with milk. Just to be told that they'd ran out of milk. No sorry.....and this Easter weekend....not acceptable. When asked by reception if we enjoyed our stay, we explained as we have here, and didn't even receive an apology. This place is to be avoided. People deserve a much better service for their money. COVID is no excuse for poor service.

Our unit was large, comfortable and well equipped. The main pool was huge and family friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant was not open for dinner.

The view of the IGA car park greeted us as we made our first impression. This was followed by broken bed, broken lamp, mouldy blinds and dirty finger marks all over the cupboards. Our room was not serviced and when I tried to get more supplies no one on reception would answer the phone. On walking down to reception the receptionist was chatting to his friend. From other reviews it does not appear that any of the issues have been addressed, just a false promise that they value your feedback. At $400 per night this place was well below what I would have expected. There are many places on the island better and cheaper than peppers.

Nice hotel. Some mould on blinds but otherwise very nice. Breakfast was included, however you had to purchase tea and coffee to accompany your breakfast, not really acceptable, even with COVID in mind, what does a cup of tea cost!

Although the room was ok, view from the balcony was looking at car park and noise. Not able to use balcony the hot air from the air - con unit hits you. The room floor was not cleaned and neither the glasses, cups washed on day to day basis.The pool was nice , however there was no restroom which meant walking a long way back to the room. The restaurant was not open in the evening . The hotel manager did adhere to our initial package and could not give a better room near the pool and away from the ferry terminal noise. The staff were very good and helpful.

We chose to stay in a hotel rather then B&B for our 25th wedding anniversary. We thought the convenience of a restaurant, pool, bar, all on one area meant we didn't have to travel around for meals and relaxing. We don't get much time away from our farm so we chose your establishment. However were very disappointed as the restaurant was not open. The bar was closed Monday night, and of all things we had two single beds pushed together as our double bed, this meant we had a big lump in the middle of our bed. So not very comfortable at all.

Room was overlooking car park. Could have let that slide, however trafffic noise was too much. Woke up 6.00am to traffic, so no sleep in. Also we’re not forewarned as to restaurant private function and therefore unable to have dinner or drinks at bar for a somewhat small wedding!! Also no air conditioning vent in separate bedroom and had to leave bedroom door open. Therefore no privacy and noise from lounge room tv. Thank goodness it was a one night only!! Have stayed here a few times before but think now it is getting a little outdated and reception staff could have been a little more welcoming.

Enjoyed three days on Magnetic Island staying at Peppers. The resort and pool were exceptional. Best location to stay. Bus stop opposite hotel along with IGA and bottle shop.

Very disappointing, over-priced

We paid $830 for two nights in a 2 bed air-conditioned apartment. It was extremely disappointing to arrive and be told we could not check in at 2pm and had to wait another 2 1/2 hours before we could check in. Granted we offered a late check out, however we could not take advantage due to pre-arrangements. The unit itself was a run-down disgrace and needs urgent maintenance. One bedroom was not even airconditioned! The louvres in the bathroom AND bedroom were broken (levers broken). For over $400 per night, I would have expected so much more. We even questioned with reception whether breakfast was included given the charge, and was rudely told no. The resort itself is run-down. I would not recommend staying here.

Overall the experience was pleasant, however the internet was horrible for a workshop using Zoom and the catered lunches were very bland. The snacks at tea were more appetizing.

Overall happy as was there to relax with girlfriends, enjoyed the pool and location. Restaurant breakfast disappointing oily omelette, very slow waited nearly half hour for coffees. Got checked in received the key got to the room and it was being cleaned still the cleaners had only just got in there at 2pm.

A friend and stayed at peppers the night before and after participating in the great island trek. We had a lovely ground floor studio apartment with a nice view of the water front. The room was a good size with comfortable furniture a great bathroom and decent kitchen Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't open for dinner during our stay - we were not aware in advance do were too late to book another local restaurant. Thankfully there was a nice cafe closeby - scallywags - we ate there both evenings. Our check in was delayed so we took advantage of a complimentary drink at the bar and were delighted to have the cost of the rollaway bed waived. I would definately stay again.
