Extremely Poor Handling..

Yes, the mistake with the booking is on my part! I originally intended to book from Thursday, July 10th to Saturday, July 12th, but somehow, I ended up booking for April instead. I received the confirmation from them for the April dates without realizing it, and I completed the booking on the evening of April 10th. The next day, I noticed that the dates were incorrect. The day and day number matched, but the month was wrong. I wanted to change the booking to July. Unfortunately, I received the unfortunate news that they marked me as a no-show and charged me for the full booking. Initially, I had booked two rooms for each night, and I could understand being charged for those two rooms, but I thought I could change the other two nights to your hotel. However, that was not possible because they considered it a no-show, which carried a 100% charge. They advised me to resolve this with Booking.com, who mentioned that they would not charge the hotel the booking percentage if they arranged something directly with me. However, they did not pursue this further. After multiple emails and requests for a reasonable solution, I pointed out that I had also not received any communication ware I was from Ibis on that day—no email or phone call, nothing at all. As you can guess, they still consider it a no-show and insist on charging me the full amount. This situation has cost me €467.70, even though I know that a no-show typically incurs a charge of only 20-50%. I find it particularly unfortunate that they call themselves a hospitality business and then hide behind fine print, automated emails, and a helpdesk with poor English. This is not a good way to do business!

Excellent night sleep, very comfortable bed good bed linen, comfortable pillows. The hotel guests ‘ space is pleasant with plenty of seating areas, a nice welcoming environment. Staff are competent and friendly.

Really good offer we were at a family occasion in the city so really reasonably priced at £65 per couple with parking extra. Very compact rooms but everything you want - the room was quite cold despite turning the tiny radiator up - we were 4th floor on the front - a nightclub/bar kept their music going until 1:30am which wasn’t great 🙄

Decent hotel in great location for a night in central Portsmouth

My daughter booked this with a show at guildhall for us We arrived at 12 and our room was ready so we were able to drop our bags and freshen up We were given extended parking at no extra charge which we appreciated The room was small as others have said but very clean with all the amenities you could wish for (tea, coffee, extra pillows etc) Just a few mins walk to the guildhall and shopping centre and only 15/20 mins to the harbour Great location and the only reason we didn’t give 5 stars was that the pillows supplied were too hard and we didn’t sleep well x Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that x

Functional for one... too small for two. The bed takes up all the room apart from a small patch of dirty carpet. The bathroom is so small I could barely get to the loo and almost didn't fit in the shower.. and I'm average build and height. Plus side, good location for Gun Wharfe, the public areas are ok, bsf isnt too bad, and check in and out was effortless - price wise I got a really good deal through booking.com, but didn't bother with breakfast as I've stayed there before and don't think it's worth it... better to go to the nearby wharfe and eat. In summary, The price and location is the most attractive part of this place. But the rooms are too small.
