I . We stayed for 2 nights.  However we were dissapointed with the condition of our room.  Please see photos attached. Our bed was made up of 2 singles, which ordinarily would be fine, however the mattresses were not connected (zip), and created a gap in the middle, which was very uncomfortable.   Also the mattress protector was ripped (see photo), and the bed was fitted with a flat sheet, instead of a fitted sheet, so this created even more discomfort when the sheet came off all the time. More disturbingly, the mattresses were badly stained.  (See photos)  This being visible due to the ill fitting sheets etc,. The bathroom door was badly damaged (see photo). This is not the first time we have stayed in a Novotel.  And we usually find that the hotels are spotless.   However this has made us re think about booking again with Novotel.

Had a Mountain View room which was extremely spacious for the three of us. My five year old slept on the sofa bed in another room. The main room was huge! Nice views of the mountains and town but it is above the train station so that ruins the view a little! Everything was clean and the hotel overall was smart. Good customer service throughout the stay. Perfect spot from the train station and only a five minute walk to the old town.

We had an unpleasant experience at another hotel and needed a last minute change late at night. Marylene was so helpful and got us all setup in two rooms next to each other. She provided excellent service and I’m so thankful for her assistance!!!!

Was hoping to receive an email from the hotel asking for my review of the stay but nothing was received. Very disappointing few days at this hotel and I blame myself as previous reviews should have warned me. The biggest and most concerning issue with the hotel is cleanliness. This hotel is not clean. On checking into hotel and entering the room it was obvious that the room was not cleaned properly. Despite bringing this to the attention of the staff, during the stay it did not improve. The second issue we had was the noise from the train station below. The trains run underneath the hotel at all hours and the room vibrates as they pass under. Thirdly, not that I expect any staff member to “ get down on one knee and greet me” but there was not one mention of my ALL platinum status. I always appreciate what someone at least acknowledges it! Previous reviews mention the lobby ( or lack thereof). The lobby seems to be some sort of shared workspace or something, kind of reminds me of a Starbucks coffee shop. People on laptops occupying every seat in the place. Outside the main door smoking in between work. If you like to enjoy a coffee and croissant while planning out your day in the city, you can forget it here. Not only will you not have a seat but you’ll receive no service. The staff obviously know the people that use the workspace on a daily basis and seem to be deep in casual conversation, at least during my visit. There’s plenty of alternative hotels in Annecy and I would advise others to avoid this place at all costs. I can overlook most of my issues with this property except the hygiene/ cleanliness of the property which is NON EXISTENT.

Avoid at all cost especially with kids!

We picked this hotel because it said there was an "indoor play area and a library for children". This was important to us as we were going to be on the road for hours before we got there and my son needed to let off steam. That was a huge lie. No indoor play area or library exists. My son kept waiting up through the night because they put us in a room right next to railway and didn't even warn us. Breakfast was tasteless and overcrowded, we waited 20 mins for croissants after first being told they were finished (even though we were there on time) and then being offered someone else's croissants from their cleared table! Room was tiny after two sofa beds there was no room to squeeze by. The toilet was difficult for a decent sized man to get in. The check in process was painful. There was one person working for such a big hotel it isn't enough and we ended up waiting half an hour to check in. We have stayed in much better 2 star hotels. This hotel was a total disappointment! Avoid!
