Great stay and central location. The hotel is very beautiful and suspicious room. The room was spotless and swimming pool facilities. The reception staff was very nice. Only 5 min walk from the train station and bus station. We also went to the west street with plenty of restaurants and bar.

Great Location But Cleanliness and Maintenance Fell Short

While the hotel is in a fantastic location, our stay was disappointing due to serious cleanliness and maintenance issues. Our initial impression of the hotel was the lift to reception, which jolted uncomfortably and didn’t feel safe. Once we checked in and reached our room, the first thing we noticed was a red stain on the carpet, which set a poor tone. We then discovered broccoli inside the kettle, creating a strong smell and forcing us to change rooms. We felt this wasn’t taken seriously enough by the staff. Had we not noticed and used the kettle, it could have made us ill. Additionally, the room had a constant noise that sounded like a boiler. In the second room, although the smell and stain were gone, the fridge didn’t work, adding further inconvenience. I also found it inconvenient not to have a sink to wash my hands in the same room as the toilet. We paid extra for breakfast and found ourselves waiting around for them to bring more food out, which was frustrating. One positive was that the hotel stored our luggage on the check-out date, allowing us to explore the area without hassle. This small convenience was appreciated. The hotel has potential given its location, but it needs urgent attention to hygiene and basic upkeep.

The hotel room is dated and not worthy of a 4star rating. I booked a queen room via the system we use at work for hotel bookings. However, when I checked in I was placed in a standard room. Once I saw the room I was disappointed and spoke to the duty manager who was not helpful at all. She was in fact dismissive and patronising. She kept on saying that the hotel was 4 star Novotel standard and that I could not be compensated for the issue with the room, she would not look at the booking that I have via email and repeated hersl3f several times that they do not do queen rooms, and that if I don't like it there is nothing that she can do. I have stayed at many hotels and was really disappointed in this one.

Old over priced and tired.

Lowcashon for city Center good and with parking at £18. Lifts very old and dirty. Room very dated and tired. Breakfast was good for £18 each. But paying £150 per night was a Saturday night for the rooms is way over priced. Stay at Leister city one and it great. Won’t stay Sheffield again. There is a small poll that’s nice to have but basic.

Good hotel …but maybe bit more trading of staff needed.

We were attending a funeral of a close family member. We checked in and asked receptionist how to get a taxi the next morning to get to the chapel , she was very offhand didn’t know where it was etc etc. We also asked to borrow some scissors to make a hand tied little bouquet for funeral as requested… she said she wasn’t able to lend us scissors, we would have to go and buy some. Thanks. Hotel was lovely , situated very close to station and we will stay again just hope not to bump into this staff member again.
