Mercure Lyon Centre Château Perrache hotel 4성

This Hotel is in a beautiful old building in a great location even though you had to walk thru the train station we never felt unsafe even a night. We were upgraded to massive top floor room with a balcony . Accor are insisting on only one welcome drink even if your platinum member

This is a three star hotel in my opinion . Suggest stay closer to shopping and cafe district . Was on a coach tour room not ready on checkin so went out . Friendly reception . Breakfast great . The hotel room inside is average as quite old , it was clean, the air conditioning ok but I couldn’t turn off the shower ventilation so heard it all night . The room has step over bath into shower . What was of concern is the neighborhood outside certainly at night I would not be walking back as hotel few minutes walk from train station with undesirables outside , it did not feel safe .

We were part of a group, only stayed for one night. Pleasantly surprised by the hotel, lovely building, our room overlooked the railway station, no noise. Dinner and breakfast were good, the staff very helpful.

Conveniently located nearby Gare Perrache. Our room is at the corner of the building, with the view of the station, smaller in size than pictured on the website. Bathroom is adjacent to the bed area, with separate wc /toilet at the hallway. In order to avoid the train noises, the opening to the little balcony has doubled doors., bathroom has only one door though (the original door). Hotel Toiletries are from the french brand Nuxe. Airconditioner didn’t do as expected, although we set the temperature at 18°C (it was very hot outside), the room had never really cool down to that temperature., even after we lowered it to 15°.

Clean, comfortable, large rooms, next to train station. Fridge in room. Quiet. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Interesting Ww2 history of hotel. Walked out of train station to hotel and rental car area. Felt safe at all times (not traveling alone though). Walk through nearby park to restaurants might be daunting for lone females but we had no issues. Recommended as great value.
