Good Location for visiting Mont St Michel

The Hotel Mecure Mont St Michel is on the mainland, it is not on the island fortress. There is a free shuttle to and from the Mont St Michel all day. The shuttle stop is right in front of the hotel. The room we stayed was good size and clean. However, the room we were assigned was on the second floor which with no elevator. It was very difficult for us to get the luggage up and down the stairs. The hotel does not have a restaurant on site. Both the dinner and breakfast were excellent at a restaurant close to the hotel.

Amazing experience at this Mercure hotel. We decided to stay one night as wanted to go for a more relaxing visit of the Mont Saint Michel and made the right choice. This lovely hotel is located right in front of the bus stop picking you up from the Pontorson train station (right after coming by train from Paris) and you can easily reach the ‘tidal island’ with a bus coming every 5/10 minutes and stopping by on the opposite side of the street. Our check in was greatly handled by Frany, such a lovely face to welcome you with warmth after a cold trip! Rooms are brandly new, clean and beautiful. Beds comfortable, lovely shampoo with honey as well in the bathroom. Water machine on the room floor as well which comes in handy. We also tried dinner which was lovely, staff was super fast and smiley. Breakfast experience was also really good. Nothing negative to report! Highly recommended!!! 🤍

Please be advised that this hotel is on the mainland is NOT on Mont St Michel, so if you are looking for a true authentic medieval hotel building experience i the village of the fort, try LA MERE POULARD,,,,,,The Mercure lists itself as on "Le Mont St Michel, but it is nowhere near the island fortress.

This hotel is much better than the other reviews! We stayed for one night in a premium room and we were really impressed. Room is good quality, comfy bed, nicely decorated - not tired or scruffy as some of the other reviews stated. We’ve recently stayed in a number of other very tired 4 stars in France, both Mercure and other brands, as well as some amazing 4 star boutique hotels and luxury 5 star by on our road trip. Our expectations were really low for this hotel but we were really pleasantly surprised. The location is excellent. Breakfast was great, varied and good quality. Don’t be put off by the reviews if you’re coming to the area!

Here tonight , no evening shops around , wanted to stay in and use my mini bar . I queried it was empty , was told you need to ask for what you want ! It’s a fridge then ! Not as described . Said desk in room, no there wasn’t .Wasnt in main hotel either . Rather disappointed. However, probably cheapest , close to Mount and good room size . A kettle too , unusual in France !
