The hotel is is ok close to a Metro Station, the meals are of somrthing else,the breakfat only one toaster big queues to make tea you have to wait in another queue to make your own teabag which took one lady over 5 minutes to decide which tea she wanted. the hot breakfast looked like it had been there for hours piled up in each dish so not have to replen lids down which made the crispy bacon soaky and salty service was also not to standard waiters all talking in one spot while on one of the two tea machines there were no cups so everybody went to the other machine big queue. it said lunch and dinner in restaurant for dinner some days only a buffet for €32.50 which also sat in dishes for a long time has the coaches did not arrive till later and when no buffet it is only a snack menu not a restaurant menu.

“It is not the one who never falls who is strong, but the one who falls and has the strength to get back up,” says an old proverb. And this is indeed the right occasion to quote it. During our stay at this hotel, an inconvenience occurred, which we promptly reported to the manager, Barbara Nowak. This wonderful lady, elegant and kind, immediately made herself available and managed to recover the situation brilliantly—with great professionalism, grace, and attention. Her love for her work is evident and truly shines through, and that made all the difference, turning our stay into a pleasant one and leaving us with a beautiful memory of the experience. We travel a lot, also for work, and we will continue to choose Mercure as a guarantee of professionalism and high standards. Horrible hotel!! This is not your usual Accor standard hotel. The breakfast is pathetic don’t buy breakfast as you would waste your money here. The hotel only has the name city centre the fact is it’s nowhere close to the city centre. We travelled with our elderly parents and found it very difficult to get. Taxi from the hotel into the city. Uber into town is over 20 euro . This hotel mainly caters to a lot of tour operators like Trafalgar etc and is not a luxury hotel . During our stay one of the elevators was not working causing over 20mins wait to come down the lift or go up . STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL

Hotel was well presented and amenities were pleasant. We stayed with another couple. We had a pleasant stay overall. A 10-15 minute walk for a tram from Victorieplein or a 5 minute walk(or 10 mins via other options) to the metro back to Centraal station meant with transport links, it is a handy hotel at a fraction of the price of more centrally situated hotels. Our bathroom flooded during our stay which was quickly resolved by hotel staff and maintenance, which resulted in a room change but that was ok. Would not recommend for people with reduced mobility if visiting Amsterdam but we enjoyed our morning walks to get back into the city and a short trip on public transport. Would stay here again if we visited Amsterdam again.

We stayed as a family of 2 adults and a teen. The room was spacious and comfortable with great views of the canal, and the pull out sofa bed was fine for the 3rd bed. The whole hotel seemed pleasant and clean. We didn't use the bar or have an evening meal, but the other 2 in the party had breakfast and although a little expensive, they did say that they enjoyed it. The location isn’t massively central, but there is a metro station around 10 minutes walk away. We did see people cycling to and from the hotel so I assume that’s doable if you’re into that, but if you’re wanting to walk to tourist locations it’s a little far out. There were usually taxis outside though. It’s still a good location for the price, given how expensive more central hotels are. If we had one real grumble it was the experience checking in. Reception seemed very disorganised, with 3 members of staff serving but not seeming to be organised with a big tour group trying to check in. It wasn’t clear who was serving who, and someone ended up pushing in front of us in the queue but to be honest she may not have even been aware that there was a queue as there were people everywhere. When we finally did get to the front we were questioned as we’d booked for 2 adults and a child, and told that 14 year old wasn’t a child as far as hotels are concerned “but it’s fine in this case”. We booked via an airline reward scheme (who I believe use Expedia) and were honest about age, and it wouldn’t have changed room price for 3 people anyway as far as I’m aware. Maybe it was just an observation and I’ve taken it the wrong way, but we’d been waiting a while at this point. The busy reception staff were also dealing with the small shop, which I did not realise when I rung the bell for service, and again that ended up being a bit of a wait. All in all we had a good stay here and I’d stay again, but feel like the check in process and front of house staffing could be better.
