Arrived Friday 27th with no issues. Very friendly and helpful staff. We ate in the hotel restaurant as we arrived late and didn't know the area well enough to go back out . If you like pizza and burgers then that is fine but there was no other choice which for a big hotel I found disappointing. We then went and sat in the bar area and had a couple of drinks. Again very pleasant and attentive staff. However when we went to the bar Saturday night we were told it was closed and that we had to use the 'restaurant' seating area or sofas that were more or less in the foyer of the hotel. It wasn't busy?? The advert for our stay said there was a bar but we couldn't use it?? Sunday night we went back to the bar and it was closed again. This time we asked why we couldn't use it and was told 'when its busy they like to keep everyone together'. It wasn't busy so the girl opened it up and this time let us sit in the bar at a table. We were also looking forward to using the steam room etc but when we enquired where it was, were told it was 'out of order'? How long has it been out of order and why were we not told as we picked this hotel for that reason! Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, again very attentive and pleasant staff. Rooms were good size and very comfortable. Pity about the spa and bar!

Went for drinks and was charged 7.45 Euro for a nip of bourbon plus for a dash of Pepsi Max 4.15 Euro. That is 11.60 Euro per drink for a 3 star venue. What a joke. We stayed at the motel as part of a travel group and the room was very small room and 3 star is the best I could rate any aspect.

Comfortable Chain Hotel

Average chain hotel, nothing jumps out as too awful. Staff were always friendly and helpful and the room itself was comfortable and sleek. Only downside was the location of the hotel, as the nearest train station into Amsterdam city central was not open, making getting around Amsterdam quite difficult. But not really the hotel's fault!

Great stay

Overall the mercure is a great hotel. It's located outside of the city centre but the metro is a ten minute walk and there is a direct line to central. The rooms are modern in design and the shower is hot and powerful. I would say the breakfast is very expensive 25 euros each and although it is nice it isn't worth the cost.

A room with a great view!

A nice hotel in Amsterdam with a great view. The room was quite small but very clean. There was a refrigerator in the room. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was a nice size but no safety bars in the shower. This hotel was not very close to the City Center; had to take a taxi. Breakfast was excellent! Reception staff very friendly and helpful.
