Amazing location, staff, and pool, we didn’t expect such a great hotel! We asked for 2 connected rooms for the kids and got two newly renovated ones with beautiful design and great showers. The pool was clean, and the bar staff were super friendly. Underground parking and a tram right outside, just two stops to the city center. Lovely city! Handy supermarket on the corner for snacks when restaurants are closed.

We've stayed here many times on our way to the south of France. It is an excellent, high quality stopover and business hotel with a high standard of service and clean, well-equipped and comfortable rooms. It has a secure basement parking area, which includes spaces for electric vehicle charging. The hotel is set around an attractive sheltered courtyard which includes a small pool and and an external dining/sitting area served from the adjacent bar and restaurant. The restaurant is excellent, with a varied and delicious menu - dinner here is always a highlight of our journey south.

Great Hotel, friendly welcome, secure underground car park for the bike, lovely little outdoor pool in the sunshine, 10 minutes walk to the centre and the fluffiest white towels we've seen all holiday and the best water pressure and hot water shower. Wonderful. Easy to find with sat nav and a super overnight stay on our touring holiday. Highly recommended. Hope the review is helpful.

This hotel impressed us greatly. We could not fault any element during our stay. The room was amazing, both in it's modern design, facilities and cleanliness. The staff were polite and professional at all times. Our food was enjoyable. Well done Mercure!

Smell of the plague

Smell of the plague - I checked into room 210 and there was an acute drain smell in the bathroom. I called reception and a member of staff agreed that it was not acceptable. She took me to another room which had the same problem and it was the same. So then staff member said she would get the technician to resolve the issue in room 210. After dinner I was assured it had all been fixed. Went back to the room and the bathroom was smelling fresh - little did I know that all they had done was to spray an atomiser - after taking a shower and getting dressed for bed the smell was back. However after a 13 hr drive from the U.K. I was too exhausted to argue and change rooms. This morning it was the smell of the plague and it was impossible to have a shower without gagging! Complained at reception - shrug of the Gaelic shoulders - all I was offered was a free breakfast and 30% off the room bill. Not acceptable.
