This is very good hotel and is terrific value. The most outstanding feature, however, was the service. From restaurant to housekeeping it was very good. But above all was the front desk service from Maxime. A member of my family had a health crisis and when I called the front desk late at night Maxime couldn’t do enough to help. He contacted emergency services and came to our room and stayed until the ambulance arrived and expedited the whole process. He made a difficult situation so much better - he deserves to be commended for his compassion and service above and beyond the call of duty .

The hotel is modern and super clean. The rooms are beautiful and well maintained. The front desk is professional and friendly. Perfect location. BUT, and that is a disappointing but. The morning buffet and restaurant staff are horrible. The food is poor quality. Terrible service from staff, not friendly, disappear, don't check on guests or even offer to warm tea or coffee. Such a nice hotel, but the restaurant should elevate the hotel stay, this experience is why my rating is low. And a 3 was generous because of the rest of the hotel The buffet food was cold. simply, almost like a continental buffet in a motel. the fruits where big chunks, and the watermelon still had the skin edge. If ordering from menu the same pancakes at least looked better on the plates, but still luke warm. The menu item had a better selection of fruits and berries.

Modern and convenient

We have a wonderful stay at the Novotel with our family. the front reception was welcoming and so were the breakfast team. We stayed on the 9th floor in a modern double room. The view from our room was the internal hotel courtyard, but we didn't mind as the room size was larger than other rooms and fitted our family. the beds were very comfortable and we were able to get a great nights sleep after the day of exploring the sites and sounds of Montreal. We had a car and parked in the adjoining car park to the hotel for a fee. We didn't have to use it much, as the hotel was in a great location, as we walked to Rue Sainte-Catherine to get to the shops and eateries. We caught the train to Old Montreal and to the Cirque du Soleil, it was so easy to get around. Big mention to the breakfast team and the excellent hot buffet breakfast we had each morning during our stay. The choices were plentiful.

Hotel Gym Review

No one ever focuses on the gym/fitness centre. So I will. I'm an amateur athlete, trying to keep my weight lifting training on schedule. This gym had enough to get by, good enough for what I needed. As of August, 2025 they had: - an incomplefe range of dumbbells - from 5lb up to 50lb, 30lb set is missing - a heavy rubberized mat - 3 standard vinyl "exercise mats" - 7 cardio machines - a Life Fitness bike - a Life Fitness recumbent bike (out of service) - 2 Life Fitness elliptical machines - 2 Life Fitness treadmills - a Keiser spin bike - enough space to actually do floor weights, stretching, pushups, etc - a mirrored wall if you want to check your form - a Barre running part of the room - 3 exercise balls - a large, three-faced cable machine -- one side includes a bench for presses- you could possibly arrange yourself to use it as a functional bench for non-machine work -- one side for leg curls and extensions -- one side for arm/lat stuff -- the weights aren't marked with any weight, just incremental "1, 2, 3" with some numbers missing. That said, cable pully systems can complicated weight calculations, so I guess just go by how it feels. The fitness room is accessible 24/7. There are towels available in the room, a water dispenser a spray bottle of sanitizer and paper towels (+ points for this). A TV in the corner was off, but a remote was available and it did, indeed, turn on when I tried it. For a hotel gym in a small space, I'll give it 5/5. The handweights are enough for me to sneak in a workout while my family has some downtime. If I needed a bigger workout, there are plent of gyms in downtown. I'm sure McGill had something respectable. Maybe I'd try to get in the Centre Olympic in the east end just for fun. The hotel was lovely and what I expected for a Novotel - clean, efficient. Beds were comfy, bathroom was clean, rooms were surprisingly quiet for the location. Would stay here again.

Hello I recently visited your bar and wanted to share some feedback. The staff were very friendly, and the bartender provided excellent service—I really appreciat that. However, the bar itself felt a little quiet because there is no entertainment🎺🎛️ no music playing, even though I could hear loud music coming from the kitchen. Having some music in the bar area would really help create a more relaxed and welcoming vibe for guests. Thank you for considering this suggestion—I’d be happy to return and enjoy the great service with an even better atmosphere next time.
