We arrived late due to flight delays and check in was rather slow, although it might have just felt slow to us after a day of travelling. We were a case missing and we were provided with the basic toiletries which was very welcoming. Our room was basic but clean. It had everything you needed, hairdryer, kettle with tea and coffee, shampoo etc in the bathroom. We didn’t have breakfast included but we did pay for it one day, lots of choice, freshly squeezed orange juice and champagne if you wanted it, lots of pastry choices and hot bacon, egg and sausages. Cereals, fruit and yogurts Location, the hotel isn’t in the old town, it’s a good 25mins walk or 5mins in an Uber.

However, our hotel is indeed just a 10-minute walk from the old town, at the entrance to Place Garibaldi. Additionally, we have a tram stop close by, providing easy access to the city center. We visited Nice for the Carnival (which was amazing) and this hotel was booked through easyjet holidays as part of a flight and hotel package. Before we went I was concerned about a few poor reviews and was fully prepared to reject the hotel when we got there and book into another one if the reviews turned out to be true. However, I should not have worried, our room 419 on the 4th floor was spacious, bright,airy and very quiet and appeared to have been freshly decorated. The bed was the most comfortable I have experienced and the room and bathroom were spotlessly clean. We did not experience and "stinky odours" any where in the hotel. The food for breakfast in the pleasant restaurant was excellent with plenty of hot and cold choices. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming and all the public areas were clean and attractive. Yes, the hotel is not in the centre of Nice, but we walked down to the centre and seafront and back several times and it only took around 20 minutes each way on a pleasant, straight and flat route. If you do not want to walk, the tram stop is across the road from the hotel and a single journey costing 1 euro 50 cents will take you anywhere on the modern No 1 tram route which goes to the centre, including the seafront, main shopping street and the station. The hotel is in an area of buildings that look as though it they were built in the 70's and haven't worn very well, however we found it to be very safe and didn't experience any problems when walking around at night, All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Novotel Centre Vieux Nice and would recommend it to anyone wanting a short break in Nice.

In 15 years we did not have a 4 stars hotel as bad as this. Towels dirty after room service… really stinks in the room.photo one: new towel in the room. Photo number two: really stinky bathroom. Poor condition of the room. Overall not 3 star worth. Nice breakfast and that is the one star ⭐️

Disappointed, old, rundown area

The Hotel building is old and ugly. Also the entire neighborhood. It’s also misleading that the Hotel is miles away from the Old Town, approx 20-25min depending where you want to go in the Vieux Nice. Our room was old as well, nothing nice, needs urgent renovation. The breakfast average and staff was the highlight. Sorry that I can’t be more positive about our stay.

Located just near the fort in city(perfect location), the hotel is clean and provides you great hospitality. The staffs were very helpful. I say food was great Special thanks to the chief Mr.Aymen who provide us a very unique and delicious food. Overall experience was awesome. I'll recommend this hotel to every couple and families.
