Great location but poor customer service by hotel management

We had booked a two-night stay at this hotel in December and were allocated the last available double room. As this was on the top floor, it has a slanted ceiling, which means that if you are tall, you cannot walk into the room without either banging your head or ducking. While it is a large room, the layout of the room is impacted by the slanted ceiling, so it means the double bed is squeezed in somewhat and you can't really get in or out of the bed comfortably as there isn't a lot of space between the bed and the wall. The reception staff were very helpful but not able to move us as the hotel was fully booked, but we were able to move into a different room for the second night. The reason for our poor review is the response from the hotel management. It's not really fair to guests to rent out this particular room at the full rate, so we emailed the hotel manager on the first night of our stay to explain the situation and to ask for a partial refund for the first night. After not receiving a response for over a week, we emailed again in early January, but it wasn't until emailing for a third time and this time copying in the Accor customer service that we received a response more than three weeks after our initial email with the excuse that the hotel manager had been on leave (didn't receive an out of office response). We were told that they are unable to provide a partial refund because the slanted ceiling does not legally represent a deficiency and can therefore not be considered as impacting the use of the room, but for the inconvenience it has caused during our first stay we were offered some bonus points. It's no coincidence that this is the last room they allocate when the hotel is fully booked, and it is inappropriate to charge the full room rate for it. Will not be staying there again based on the disappointing way this was dealt with by the hotel management.

I second the comments regarding poor management. When booking two rooms the computer glitched and reset the date to the day I was making the reservation. I noticed it when I went to print my confirmation. Tried calling the hotel, either the phone would not ring or it would ring for a long time with no answer. I write an -mail and they said sorry we are not changing the date and will keep your money. No acknowledgment of the system issues. So, they got the same money they would have had if they just moved the rooms two days. So, bottom line, if you ever have any issues at all, you will not receive any customer service and be totally screwed. So they got the same money they would have it they adjusted the date, but showed their true non-customer service. Book at your own risk!

Pokoje takie jak się spodziewałem, ważne, że czyste i z wygodnymi łóżkami. Hotel do tego bardzo dobrze położony bo w samym centrum. Chociaż z drugiej strony to problem z parkowaniem (trzeba dojść spory kawałek, z walizkami nie jest to najwygodniejsze). Natomiast co wzbudziło, że ocena jest tylko na 6: - przede wszystkim śniadania - zawsze biorę hotel ze śniadaniami i nigdy w sieci Accor nie narzekałem na poziom śniadania niezależnie, czy był to hotel 3 czy 4 gwiazdkowy. Dla porównania w "ibis styles london southwark" gdzie byłem ostatnio śniadania to bajka. A tutaj śniadania do 10:00, a o 9:30 nie jest już nic uzupełniane, a na pytanie czy są jeszcze kiełbaski - pada odpowiedź "nie ma bo się skończyły". Tragedia. Jajecznica najgorsza jaką jadłem kiedykolwiek w hotelu, w zasadzie niejadalna. Pieczywo niezależnie czy to słodkie i tłuste croissanty, czy chleb tostowy włożone do jednego koszyka. Obsługa nieprzyjemna. - do tego brak wody w pokojach, brak hotelowej restauracji, bar w przejściu przy wejściu, praktycznie nieużywalny Dlatego nie polecam ibisa w Norymberdze. Da się w nim przespać, ale pozostałe wrażenia niespecjalne. W innych miastach jak najbardziej - ibis styles są fajne, większość Novoteli też. Jednak tutaj warto poszukać innej opcji.

I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations; please allow me to express my sincerest apologies. Of course, it should not happen that items are not getting refilled at 09:30am and we have talked with our breakfast staff that this is not acceptable and that our delicious food gets refilled until 10:00am to our guests so we are very sorry for the inconveniences caused here. I think we offer a huge continental breakfast for a 2 star hotel with all kinds of different food and beverages. Since we are located in the middle of the beautiful old town of Nuremberg, we unfortunately do not have our own park-house. We therefore thought it would be a good opportunity for our guests to enter into a cooperation with a Pakhaus ( Parkhaus Hauptbahnhof) located very close to the hotel so that our guests can also benefit from a cost-effective parking option which can be paid with 15,00 € directly at the reception. As we are only a 2-star Hotel of course we do not have the standards of a 3 or 4 or higher star house. And the standards are from country to country different. So I understand what you mean but you can’t compare our hotel with a hotel with a much more higher standard as we have. We always strive to continuously improve the quality of our service and team so that our guests Have a great time staying with us. Therefore your feedback is very important to us.
