Unprofessional hotel staff. A very good example of a very bad hotel

Below international standards for 4-star category. Staff: Reception was indifferent and slow to respond. Some staff members were rude and unhelpful. Overall: The hotel is poorly managed, and the experience was so bad that it ruined the vacation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay here again. Location: Very bad, the hotel is quite difficult to see from main road as it is located below the road level. Did not sight any sign board in the main road to reachable. The hotel seriously needs to evaluate options for improving general cleanliness. Had one of the worst experience in my life. Unpleasant smell coming from the bathroom. The hotel do not provide any amenities such as; bathrobes, slippers, toothbrush kits or shaving kids, there is no complaint mineral water and no iron/table.

Providing warm hospitality and professional service is our top priority, and I regret that we were unable to deliver the experience you expected from us. Just to clarify, our hotel is located at street level and can be easily found using all common digital map services. We also feature clearly visible exterior signage to help guests identify the property upon arrival. Regarding your other points: complimentary bottled water is not part of our standard room setup but can be purchased 24/7 in our hotel lobby. Upon request, we are also happy to refill guests’ own bottles with filtered water. Bathrobes and slippers are available depending on the booked room category; in standard rooms, they can be requested anytime at reception. In line with our environmental certification and sustainability commitment, single-use products such as shaving kits, toothbrushes, combs, and other disposable amenities are no longer placed in the rooms but are available on request at reception or via our hotel app. For fire safety reasons, ironing is only permitted in our designated ironing room, which is accessible to all guests free of charge. I truly regret that your stay left you disappointed, as our entire team strives daily to ensure a comfortable and pleasant experience for every guest. Perfectly average business trip hotel. Room adequate, reasonably clean (other than the large dead bee left in the middle of the floor for 4 days, even though I left a sign pointing it out, I was interested to see if they would clean it, dear reader....they did not). Air conditioning poor, mini fridge also not great (Mercure hotel 3 mins away better). Both very much needed in 35 degree heat. Bed comfortable, other expected facilities i.e. toilet, shower, safe, desk, available and functional. Nothing particularly spectacular but close to my office. Staff were very nice.

My recent stay at Novotel was far below expectations and the worst experience I’ve had at any Novotel. Upon arrival at 8:30 p.m., the hotel was in total chaos, with large tourist groups pouring in from tour buses. I asked at check-in if I could still have dinner at the restaurant and was assured I could—only to find it completely packed. Room service was also unavailable, leaving no option for an evening meal. The following day, breakfast at 6:30 am resembled a war zone. The restaurant was overflowing, there were no available seats, and the staff was overwhelmed and unhelpful. In the end, I had to skip breakfast altogether. On my second day, I had breakfast... which was nice. The rooms are outdated, and the bathrooms lack heating and require renovation. My colleague’s room faced the railway, resulting in noise throughout the night. The so-called gym was equally disappointing—just three machines, hardly what you'd expect from a hotel of this brand. Overall, the hotel did not feel welcoming or relaxing. I would not recommend this location.

Your comments regarding the overwhelming number of tour groups during your arrival and at breakfast are absolutely valid. On the morning in question, we experienced an unusually high volume of departures from multiple groups, all with the same schedule. This led to a level of crowding we ourselves had not encountered before. We have already begun reviewing measures to better handle such situations in the future—for example, by opening breakfast earlier on high-volume days to ease the pressure and improve the overall guest experience. I also regret that you were unable to enjoy dinner or order room service on your first evening. While we do our best to accommodate every guest, capacity limits can unfortunately be reached during peak times. We're actively working on improving communication and guest flow, especially in situations involving large group check-ins. As for your remarks on the rooms and gym: we understand that the overall comfort and quality of facilities are essential. At our property, various areas are regularly renovated or renewed, and we hope to further improve our rooms in the future as well. Our fitness area is designed for basic workouts, though we understand it may not meet the expectations of guests seeking a more extensive gym setup. Regarding the bathroom, please allow me to clarify that it is heated through our central ventilation system, which is regulated by the temperature settings in the main room. This setup eliminates the need for a separate heating unit in the bathroom. Once again, I’m truly sorry that your stay with us did not reflect the standards you rightfully expect from a Novotel. Free Parking......No chance!

Have stayed here 4 times now. This is the first time we used the underground car park, usually park on the street outside. Was very surprised and annoyed to be charged 20 euros for 1 night. No discount for guests, no free use for guests even though it was the weekend and the hotel was very quiet. Reception not helpful at all.

I’d like to clarify a few points regarding the parking. In addition to our underground car park, we also offer complimentary outdoor parking spaces on the hotel property. The €20 fee for the underground parking is a special rate for our house guests and applies per night, regardless of the arrival and departure time. This pricing structure allows us to maintain and operate the garage while keeping costs fair and transparent. We operate on a user-pays principle to avoid including parking fees in the room rate, which would also charge guests who arrive via other means of transport, such as public transportation or bicycles. Furthermore, we regularly analyze market rates around the hotel and are proud to offer parking prices that are lower than the average for both hourly and overnight rates in the area. My brother, his wife and two kids stayed in a room that joined with mine and my parents. The room had everything we needed. Our flight got in very early and we arrived wanting to ask if we could store our luggage until check in. They said yes but they actually had our rooms basically ready so they let us check in early which was awesome!! Our room had a double bed for my parents and a fold out couch for me. The fold out couch hadn’t yet been set up but the cleaner was in the hallway and he was very helpful even though he didn’t speak much English. I would stay again.
